My goal is to try and not end up too far below the NADA low average which when I did it without adding any options was $6300. I'm one of the worst salesman there is and I everything I've ever sold was listed and sold for lower than it should've been. I'm always afraid to take advantage of people. RayAdvice on sellingHi Folks, It's been quite a while sine I've posted here, but I'm looking for some advice on selling. Due to health issues and the need for a walk around bed, my wife and I are going to the dark side and ordered a a new Rockwood 2109S I've been searching online and can't find any other 2010 Jayco 17z like mine for sale to get an idea of what to ask for it. I did check NADA and I've read that you shouldn't include options which is fine. However, the trailer is not only practically mint, but has been significantly upgraded. Not the least of which was converting from 13" to 14" radials with aluminum wheels. NADA gives a low retail and an average retail. Should I ask a something higher than the "average retail" and hope to get at least the average? Thanks in advance! RayRe: Storge in a Jayfeather 17ZWe bought our 17Z back in 2010 and love our little mighty might camper. When we camp, we're pretty basic people and don't really need a big house on wheels. Unless it's raining, we don't spend a ton of time inside anyway. We love that the 17z comes with both a couch and a dinette which most in this size don't have. We do use everything in the camper, including the shower so we don't want to store stuff in there. I did make a couple storage mods. It's only the two of us so I made openings and doors under the dinette seats and we each have one for cloths storage. It's kind of surprising how much we can fit in each one. I also made drawers in one cabinet under the sing for utensils and put shelves in all of the upper cabinets. Here's a couple pictures. clothes storage Utensil drawers RayRe: Said Goodbye to the RooCongrats on the new trailer! Hope you have lots future memories to make! RayRe: Thanks fellow vetsThanks to you too! RayRe: ThanksLots of luck and happy camping with your new trailer!Re: Plagued with problems this weekend - Completely cluelessTo me, the brake issue seems like it's an electrical issue either with one of the two 7-way connectors or with the wiring to the connectors. The battery shouldn't make any difference whether or not the brakes work. Even if the battery isn't installed the brakes should work fine. Of course, without the battery you don't have any break away safety so it needs to be there for safety. Can you feel the brakes activate when you move the manual lever on the brake controller? If not, or it works sometimes, but not others, then it has to be an intermittent connection somewhere between the brake controller in the truck and the brakes themselves. The 7-way connectors being the most common. some trailers also have a plug on the trailer tongue that the other end of the 7-way connector cable plugs in to. Ray RayRe: Going through camping withdrawl!I know what you mean. Fortunately, I'm able to keep trailer home though. I've been known to go sit in it and watch a little TV or read the paper. RayRe: Plagued with problems this weekend - Completely cluelessFor the power, you might want to try the fuse. If you trace the battery wire there is usually an inline fuse on the cable. Some campers have it under the trailer on the main battery cable. The only thing I can think of with the brakes is either the emergency brake actuator on the trailer tongue, or possibly a corroded 7-way connector. On my last Chevy, the 7-way connector on the truck would get corroded and make the prodigy think a trailer was connected when it wasn't. But, that only happened in the winter and was probably from salty road slush which conducts electricity very well. RayRe: Jayco Kiwi water systemOld-Biscuit is correct. The extra tube that isn't connected to anything on the one end is to stick into a jug of antifreeze for winterizing. It will draw from the antifreeze jug instead of the tank to pump the antifreeze through the system. Ray
