Safety at Big Bend National Park
DW and I have been discussing a winter trip to Big Bend this January. Our daughter who lives in Texas has concerns about safety on the border. Is Big Bend safe right now?

I need your help. My wife and I just completed driving and camping the Blue Ridge Parkway in a Ford truck and Lance 861 truck camper. My problem is that when driving the truck, the batteries on the camper were not recharging. I need hints on where to start looking. Thanks,

Elkmont Campground
I just tried to make reservations at Elkmont, inside the Smokies. Even though the dates I want are almost 6 months out, no river sites are available. Have they made those walk up sites or am I just too late to get a river site?

Yellowstone in late September
DW and I have a chance to be in Yellowstone the last 3-4 days of September. We have been a few times before but only May-June. What can we expect to see or not see in late September? Thanks for your help.

We have a Lance 861 on a Ford F250. Added airbags and sway bars. Sure the weight police don't like it but we have been to Yellowstone, Glacier and the Grand Canyon plus probably 15 trips to East Texas to our daughter's house without any problems.

DW and I are planning a trip from Alabama to Acadia NP next fall. I have two questions. When do the leaves usually peak? Which campground inside the park is your favorite. We will be in a truck camper.

I had a problem for a long time, recently all the mice disappeared. Yesterday I found a snake skin that had been shed in a storage compartment. I guess that explains the disappearance of the mice.
