We used to use BC but they changed from a decent PPO to a terrible EPO that forced all local care to be done at the local very $$$ hospital. We used to be able to drive 40 minute to Reno, NV and get reasonable care. We changed to Kaiser and use a family members address. We recently sold our home so we are also mobile in the RV or in Mexico. Our plan has a high deductible and we now also buy a annual travel insurance policy. I dont care about travel reimbursement but it also gives us 50,000 in health insurance. SInce we ski all winter, being without insurance coverage is not a good idea. Kaiser covers us in an emergency. I figure if its not a big enough emergency and they want us back in California, 50,000 is enough to cover stabilization, imaging and some testing. When I communicated with Kaiser regarding coverage, I did it through email so i can keep all the correspondence in my records. The travel insurance is through DAN. Divers Alert Network. I also have their dive insurance (different plan) put it is not required if you just want to buy the travel ins. policy. We have not used it yet. I plan on usually paying cash or cc then submitting it for reimbursement. We are 58 and 59 yrs old. We pay 500/yr. I was in direct healthcare for 25+yrs. We used to get an occasional patient that an insurance company would state was not “critical enough” and would require them to go home for treatment after they were stabilized. You could look for different travel insurance plans. World Nomads is another one.Re: Question about rear Dining/Living/BedHi, Just a little highjack of this thread as we have the same question while trying to stay 25ft or less.. For those that use the convertible sofa bed , how comfortable is it? We will be in our RV more than half the yr.Re: Weird gas fridge issueThe gas stove works fine as does the furnace. Just the fridge. It's so weird. So, it kicked off this morning, I'm sure it will not start again today, not until tomorrow morning. We leave on a 3 week trip tomorrow. Bringing the ARB.Re: Weird gas fridge issueOk... it's 8 am, 38 degrees, and the fridge fired right up. Furnace is not on, stove not on, it's just cold out, first thing in the morning. I'm sure if I turn it off, in a few hrs it will not fire up again Any ideas?...I don't understand why it only fires up when it is very cold. The guy that usually helps working on the RV is out of town. Propane tank is 1/2full.Re: Weird gas fridge issueThanks for the help. I kinda thought air might be the issue. I will check the flame color when we leave on Monday for our next trip. The funky thing is that it only fires up after the very first use of the furnace, early in the morning. If I try lighting it midday when the furnace is on or off it will not light. . I'm bummed because it was fine until I flipped the gas sensor off in the middle of the night, hence cutting off the gas flow.Weird gas fridge issueHi, we have a 1991 Tioga Montara. DEFINETLY helping us learn about life in an RV. It has the original gas fridge. It gets cold on 110. It was getting cold on gas. On our last trip out this yr, in the middle of the night we ended up turning the gas saftey sensor off so that stopped gas flow ( don't need to get into the reason now but the gas was not the issue). Since then we can not reliably get the fridge to go on using the gas. The weird thing is , first thing in the morning we switched on the furnace and we could then fire up the fridge. But other than then, we can not get it to go on. It just goes to "check". Still works fine when plugged in. Any ideas?
