The mount adjusts every which way. The software is updated fairly often (just updated mine for a trip) and the video presentation is really nice with the tie-in to Google Maps. Just had an occasion to use it last week while driving the car. Someone cut in front of me in a turn lane and buggered up my front bumper. No big deal (other than $800 to fix it) but as soon as it happened, I just pushed the little orange button to make sure the video segment was locked and wouldn't be overwritten. Then the "discussion" started. The guy was getting all excited about how it was my fault and I hit him etc, etc. Yeah, right up until my wife said sweetly ... "But we have you on the dash cam." That took care of it.Re: Best way to enjoy my digital hoard of audio booksMy 2 cents is just update the radio. I was amazed what $45 would buy you. Among other things, we also listen to audio books when driving and the Kenwood I put in plays just about any format you want to throw at it on CD. Audiobooks to MP3's. It also has bluetooth so that makes it simple to play whatever's on your phone(s). Aux input on the front and a USB port if you dump your music or audio off to a flash drive. Of course, every installation is different, but mine was fairly simple and I ordered an installation kit along with it. Main thing it had were adapters in case your wiring deosn't match up.Re: Gotta love Mexico...Well, dang! :E Sounds like Christmas is over for sure!Re: 7" (or larger) GPS UnitsGarmin RV760LMT 7" Great unit. Not a small feature is that you set it up for YOUR dimensions. It's kept me out of trouble where my other, toad Garmin won't recognize a potentially hazardous overpass, for instance.Re: DirecTV Acct ONLY for RV?Thanks all. I'll follow up on a couple of the suggestions and post later if anything worked.DirecTV Acct ONLY for RV?Can't find anything searching the forum(s) so .... Is it possible to open a DirecTV account ONLY for the RV? I can't get a straight answer from DTV or their agents. All they want to do is sell me an entire house installation and then add on a receiver for the RV. I have the Motosat antenna, controller and a DirecTV receiver already - all I need is an account. Used to piggyback on another account but that was closed.Re: Fueling at truck stopsWe download the Pilot/Flying J list of all the locations that have RV amenities. It's in an Excel worksheet formula so you can sort it, use filters, etc. and create your own list that's specifi to your trip. You can get it HERERe: TPMS system recommendationTireTraker TPMS. Have had it for 18 months and very pleased with it. I opted for the 10 wheel version (6 for the MH, 2 for the tow dolly, 2 for the toad rear wheels or 4 for the toad if not using the tow dolly). $437 total cost with some extra "O" rings and batteries. No need to use a repeater or additional antenna. Batteries are replaceable by the user.Re: Fueling up on trips pigman1 wrote: I don't want to be a troll about this, but if you're having trouble getting in and out of a Flying J you really need to seriously upgrade your RV driving skills. We are over 44' with the Bus, tow a long bed extended cab pickup with a 4'+ hitch and get in and out of local stations and "Quickstops" all over the country, Canada, and Alaska. Yes, sometimes you need to wait for the fool who parked with his vehicle way out of a spot while he gets hes cigs and lottery ticket, but I've NEVER had to unhook at a gas stop. Sometimes we do get DW out to check if the fuel hose will reach and sometimes I will block an adjacent pump or part of an entrance/exit, but this is very seldom. Please, please, please drive more. Practice your skills in a parking lot or open field. It'll also save you money on body work and keep your blood pressure and stress level down. Kinda judgy, don't ya think:h Flying J's with RV pumps are excellent although they are few and far between. Not to be confused with the diesel truck lanes (although sometimes they are situated next to them) these are gas pumps located specifically where it's easier for a gasser to maneuver, fill up, dump tanks, wash windows, etc. You can read about them and get a list of RV Locations HERE. Those are our first choice but, sadly, sometimes the gas guage doesn't agree. The FJs without the RV gas pumps are NEVER convenient. We found this especially true on our latest trip. With a 36' MH, tow dolly and toad, we are very limited in trying to maneuver around tight pump islands and inconsiderate "shoppers". Experience helps. We try to start with a full tank and then locate a convenient spot to fill up the next morning when we're out exploring in the toad during the afternoon.Re: need to buy captains and copilot seatsWell, that stinks! I'm going to be replacing my two chairs as well next year so, please, post again with your end results. Gene
