I am thinking you have leakage on the check light circuit. Put the refer on gas, then watch it for a day or so checking every couple of hours. Wire size needs to be determined by distance be batteries and inverter. fuse size will be large somewhere around 250 amp. Installation manual should give you some specifics on wire size and fuses. Yes, many inverters have cables supplied but many are undersized. Off hand with in ten feet or so you would need 4/0 cable something like welding cable. There is only one portion of valves that could rust. That is ones equipped with cable actuators. Normal blade valves rods are stainless steel and should not rust. Systems using blade pipe systems are easy to replace and not expensive.
