On each axle you use the weight for the heavier side. Do the weighing when completely loaded for travel. Use the highest weight on each axle to check the weight/pressure (or Pressure/Load) table from the manufacturer for the model tire you have. I did a write up on my research, link below in my signature.Re: How old is too old? It's not the age, but the condition that counts. I bought this one in 1991 when it was 23 years old and sold it in 2007 when it was 39 years old. It's still travelling and winning trophies at car shows. And I bought this one in 2007 when it was 11 years old and it still looks and drives like new. :CRe: ScootersI used to carry my '81 Vespa P200 ( recently sold) on a 4x8 trailer. No pictures with the Safari but one with the UltraVan. Re: How old?Just received this link from a college roommate. It says it all. :) Link Oliver Sachs is not only a great neurologist but also a great writer. I assigned one of his books, The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat to students in my classes in Physiological Psychology. It's fascinating reading.Re: How old?I hate trick questions. I'm...:h...what was the question again? Oh. yeah. The keys are on the table next to the couch. :? I'm 71. I've been RVing since 1991. Retired in 2001. Bought the Safari in 2007. I've been dealing with a persistent health issue for the past three years. At times I've been able to drive the coach to exercise the engine but no camping trips. Had some surgery on my foot and the incision has been slow to heal. Hopefully I'll be ready to go by September or October. My Dad lived to 98, so that's a reasonable target. ;) Now about those car keys...didn't I tell you where they are? :CRe: General Older RV IssuesIf you use the SilverLeaf VMSpc you'll get real readouts from the engine data stream and recorded error codes. VMSpcRe: Bar harbor Maine Hwy 9 & 1 to the Rocks Pro ParkInstead of staying closer to Bar Harbor where the rates are higher, we stayed at Smugglers Den CG 2 miles north of Southwest Harbor. Nice CG. Mt. Desert Island is small enough that it's only a few minutes drive to just about any part of the island. And it's very close to Thurston's Lobster Pound in Bernard, ME. mmmm! That fresh caught 2-1/2 lb'er cost under $30 in 2010. :CRe: Rest area overnight stops.I think the OP was really asking about quick/free alternatives to campgrounds when traveling long distances. In addition to rest areas (which I've never used) good choices are Walmart Super stores. They are open 24 hrs and always seem to have a security car patrolling. Another choice is Cracker Barrel. For both ask management first. Don't forget Truck Stops. Flying J is very RV friendly with RV parking in front, dump stations, and big truck parking areas out back. I've parked both front and back and never been bothered. There's also Pilot and Love's among the big Truck Stops. If I need a quick nap during the day, any shopping mall, grocery store, or church parking lot should be OK for a few hours. I just avoid isolated places at night. And always use your deadbolt lock... Enjoy your travels. :CRe: Advice please on new diesel pusherYou can, and should, do your own initial inspection. The one linked in my signature below is pretty extensive. You should also take the coach to a CAT shop and have them inspect. Enjoy whatever you get, it's a great way to travel.Re: Power steps acts crazyI prefer White Lithium grease in spray can.
