Turned out GPS was running battery down when sitting for a couple of days. Was fine on the trip as the truck was run everyday. Wired the GPS in so it was only on when the truck was on, problem solved. RonRe: A very good reason Not to scrimp on surge protectors.Have EMS in my 5ver in Florida (50 amp) in my 5ver at home (30 amp) and my truck camper (30 amp). Saved me several times. RonRe: Frozen Dump ValvesThe above post is correct. I thought because it had a cable it was way back but it was near the end of the pipe. RonRe: Hooks on my countersThey look a lot like what I have used to to hold the coffee maker cord out of the way of the drawers. I don't drink coffee so it made someone else happy. RonRe: Car breaks down on a trip. What to do with your camper?A year ago as we were passing thru Slidell, LA our truck started running poorly. With 195K miles it was very carboned up (I knew it was coming). We stopped at the GMC dealer, went around the corner to a campground and dropped the TC off. The tech that did the work took a little longer as his wife was sick so he spent a couple of days at home. He did a super job, the truck ran great and mileage improved. While this was taking place we rented a vehicle and visited all the museums in the area and met a lot of great people. It took a week but what a great time. We were going from Florida to Arizona so it was just one more part of our adventure. Ron & SheilaRe: Jacks questionIts doable. I did this on my TC. You may already have the electrical outlets at the jacks. As said before you need lots of heavy wire plus you didn't say where you are getting the kit. Mine came from a wrecked TC. Some electrical experience will help or a friend that has some. RonRe: Propane tank recertificationI had my horizontal truck camper tanks done in Leesburg, Florida. Easily done (verses expensive new tanks) and no hassle. If need be I can find the address, may have to wait till I get back to FL in Oct. RonRe: Wiring questionLittle careful work should be fine. I ran cable forward, split it so I have satellite TV in bedroom and lower compartment. RonRe: We in input on a New Brunswick/Nova Scotia tripGreat places to visit! Be sure to use some of the Provincial Parks. Great to get up in the morning look across the lake and see a moose move in and out of the mist. Go into PEI on the ferry on the east end and exit on the bridge on the west end. Plenty to see and visit. RonRe: Coleman Mach 3 thermostat retrofitJust did this to the Coleman Mach 8 Cub in my truck camper. Removed the internal module and replaced it with a 9330A755 module to wire to the external thermostat which controls heating and cooling. Lots of info on u tube. Google this. Ron
