The place has over 60,000 employees. I work full time but most people are hired on a part time basis. As far as living here, it can be an expensive area. We bought our own lot in Deer Creek about 8 miles from Disney. When we leave we will rent it out so the lot is serving two purposes. If you are on fb they have a Walt Disney World Jobs page that will take you to their website. If you have any other questions about Disney I will be glad to try and answer them.Re: 2014 Landmark San AntonioWe Full Time in our Landmark Mesa. The clear coat on the front cap had to be resprayed which HL took care of under warranty although it took finding the right person at Customer Service to authorize it. A few other small issues like others that I took care myself. As blkdodge said the day/night shades are not the greatest and I don't like the look of the MCD shades. Will probably change them out to blinds when enough of the shade strings break. I wish the carpet was better quality with a higher face weight and go to a higher density pad. Out of warranty, the Frigidaire Convection Oven/ Microwave quit working on the Convection side and we replaced with a Samsung. For the price point we are happy with the Landmark.Re: Thoughts Experiences with KOA Workamper ProgramWe have never worked at KOA but still belong to their koa work campers just for information. It appears to me that there is a general trend on the KOA site that most of them are getting away from paying money and going towards work for site. That is just my opinion.Re: Information Discussion for Gate Guards Brantime wrote: We are new to the Gate Guarding family and have been working a whole 7 days as of now, lol! We are out of Cuero, Tx. and arrived in time for the rig to start tearing down and moving...so we had lots of traffic. We are now getting ready for "Frac"ing and the traffic involoved. We are 24/7. Word of Warning for all Guards!!! Make sure that you set up all connections to your RV...the set up company hooked their Fresh water hose to our Black Tank Clean out connector instead of the Fresh Water Tank inlet, and let the 45 lbs of pressure run. Needless to say, our Black Tank Blew the seems apart the the flood ensued. We are waiting for Forest River to get back to the RV Dealership that will be repairing/replacing the tanks, insulation, etc. We were also just notified that we will have to move as the piping is to run under the RV pad and our Rig. So far, it has been an adventure, lol! We spent about a month just outside of Cuero on a gate this past winter. Nice area. Hope things settle down for you.Re: Holy Cow, What a week CGXterra wrote: You would recommend cutting everything out that we can't put in the camper then? We have some paintings from the mother in law and some other stuff that we just don't want to sell/donate. Maybe putting them in someone's attic till we decide to call the fulltiming quits? We had a couple of paintings that we gave to a good friend to "hold" for us. Asked him to hang them on the wall and enjoy them until we want them back. Don't put valuable paintings in an attic or basement. Humidity is not a good thing for paintings.Re: DISH RV Dept. Phone NumberThe only way I could get them was call the main number and when the rep. came on, I asked to speak with an RV specialist. They connected me right away.Re: Information Discussion for Gate GuardsWe have been on our first gate for four weeks now. We are actually controlling the traffic on a private road. We love it. We are 10 miles from a nice size town with pretty good shopping at least for the basics. Not sure how long this gate will last but we hope the next one will be at least half as nice. After this experience we would have to think really hard about working in a cg. Our goal is work 3 months and then take off for three months.Re: Information Discussion for Gate Guards Don/Shar wrote: We worked for GGs and was on a gate for Swift for 9 months. Very nice people, kinda laid back and didn't push real hard. Very easy to work for. Thank you for the informationRe: Information Discussion for Gate GuardsLots of information here on most of the companies but nothing on Primo and only one or two for J&G or Swift.
