As a person who is a 'millenial" (I am 32), I absolutely adore being outdoors. In the past few years I've moved up from a truck topper, to a RTT, to a 1980 slide in camper, to now, a small (24') 1984 Class C. The problem with RVing now is that if you aren't handy, it's too darn expensive! Even some of my friends who have purchased new, thinking they'd save on maintenance, have had a rude awakening. I'm thankful my father taught me to wrench on my own junk. Without that skill set, I would 100% not be into RVing. A huge problem with the industry as a whole is quality. The difference in problems between my old 1980 slide-in camper and a 2018 slide-in camper is no different (actually I might argue the 2018's have more problems). If RV quality had improved over the past 40 years, more young people would be into it. But, who wants to spend their holidays at Camping World waiting for someone to attempt to fix your camper? The only other thing I know my peers dislike is RV parks. Loud, crowded, EXPENSIVE. I try and avoid RV parks like the plague. Give me a piece of BLM or Crown land and I'm happiest.
