Load in a ton of tools, hook a 10000 lb trailer behind and go. Didn't need to worry about speeding tickets when towing... Now if those trailers only had brakes!:ERe: Hankook tiresI had them on my last truck. Good tire, good dirt traction, decent life for the money. Not the greatest on ice, (fairly hard rubber) good in dry snow.Re: v10 or 6.2???Either or will work. I have a 6.8 and haul more as payload than your TT weighs with no problems. 7.5 to 9.5 MPG loaded which I think is not bad at all. I don't particularly care for the empty fuel mileage, but I am not going back to diesel for a while.Re: Electric drill for lift jacksI have a big Milwaukee (not the little ones sold at box stores) M18. A full battery pack has enough juice to do a complete load/unload cycle. The thing has enough power to twist you up if not careful.Re: Improving Gas MileageYou might want to think about changing your oxygen sensor(s). Don't know how much it runs for on a chevy, but I did my ford a month ago. Gained almost 1 mpg for a cost of $80.Re: Any of you run caps?I've run caps before, and never had problems. The hard part was getting enough casings to pass inspection before capping. Too many stone bruises and other problems. LT tires have a lot less meat to them than semi tires. At this point, I would be leery of using them on the front, and I have 4x4 so I just don't cap anymore.Re: mpg does it matterI worry about MPG... That' why the wife drive a micro car!:SRe: Age or mileage ?If you are in a salt state, I wouldn't touch a 10 yr old vehicle. Thats when I tend to get rid of them. If the car is from Phoenix it wouldn't bother me a bit.Re: What do you use for steps while towing? This is what I did... Re: DIY Spring Extender - Rev 1 - Half-a-Puck, PICSAs far as the retention goes, think about what happens when the truck goes over a bump and jumps up. You can easily get enough clearance to let the stop pop out. I would make some thin nuts and put the bolt in the bottom with 271 locktite. I wouldn't worry about them rusting in place. If they are on there that long, it means it worked, and they can always be taken off with a gas wrench.;)
