On the other hand, old posts are about all you will find on here because the site has been abandoned. The powers that be decided to make the site look like something other than a forum, possibly to drive people away so they will not have to maintain the site. All conjecture but if you listen carefully you can hear the drum roll in the distance. Re: Why are mods so silent? When there are no moderators it is a sure sign of management not caring. They probably realized that they created a POS and will let it die when the renewal fees for the site run out. Lots of knowledge being lost. Apparently no one in management cared from the beginning of this disaster and we are watching the result. If anyone paying for the change had actually looked at the crap that was put out they would have thrown up. This just proves that anyone can write code. A few can do it well. The best coders listen to feedback from the users. The worst just say "This is how I wrote it so you must be wrong." Good Sam hired the latter. DEI? Re: Why are mods so silent? They are silent because they don't want to change a thing. They are happy with the cr*p the produced and the users mean nothing. We should start a list of different users and their guess at when the site gets taken down. I do not believe it will survive into 2025. So my guess is December 31'st. Re: Where are the mods and enhancements? When the administrators can't even get a simple meeting together you can't expect them to do something that is a little more complicated. I use this site to illustrate how even if you are the worst coder in the world there is a place for you. Not many remember it but Dr. Lawrence J. Peter wrote a book called "The Peter Principle" which explains this site perfectly. It states that in a hierarchy everyone rises to their level of incompetence and gets stuck there. Maybe some will find a useful analogy here. Re: Heartland torque subframe weld crack/flexing/water damage How old is the trailer? Re: RV Life Pro We have been using it for over three years and it has been a very useful tool. Note that we use it on Apple devices so the previous post may have some validity. It takes a little bit to learn all it can do but it is easy. We have planned months long journeys on it and they were easy to organize. If you travel to new places a lot it is a great research tool. Re: Ripped off in the valley Ok so you totaled your car and a bunch of other people, the police, the DMV and the tow company made mistakes. It is wonderful that you didn't need their services for a whole week but then you did and you asked them to do something that is against their policy and got upset by it. There are liability reasons why they will not tow to a private address other than yours. Maybe a calm talk with a different rep can result in an outcome you are happy with. Re: Help improve Good Sam Community! Hi Patty. What happened to the last proposed meeting? I would also guess that you do not answer messages and that is why there was no meeting. Is this going to be the same runaround or is it really going to happen? Re: Looking for owners manual 2007 Sonoma If you do find one it will be very generic and not very informative. Your best bet is to get manufacturers name, model number and serial number for each appliance and then get the manuals for them on line. Factory owners manuals have little to no useful info. Re: Has rv.net been closed? This site gives me the impression that us, the customers, are in the way of what the staff wants to do. I received a message from a couple of site administrators asking if I would join a meeting to work on fixes for the site and I indicated every day last week except monday was good for me to join them. No meeting, no communication on why there was no meeting. In this world of everyone gets a trophy it seems that work skills and ability to perform the job are not important.
