We use a 48" Reese extension and carry 2 Verve 3 e bikes. (55lbs each) We are able to open our slide with the bikes on the rack. At times we also add a Malone kayak trailer by using an over under hitch. Just be sure to take bikes off the rack before you try to take camper off the truck.Re: Lance 830 Window replacementI have 2 replacement windows from a 2008 okanagan 106UDB. If you are interested I can measure them. I am not sure which window they were from. I am located in Massachusetts so shipping could be a problem.Re: Truck camper pricing Old Days wrote: Check out Toms Camperland in Mesa Arizona they seem to be the largest Truck Camper dealer in the country. Tom's Camperland in Mesa made it worth our while to drive from the east coast to pick up our Host. The amount we saved over buying on the east coast more than paid for our entire 6 week trip. We ordered the options we wanted and waited until it was built to travel west. The only inconvenience was we had to take delivery out of state to save the Az. Sales tax. We drove an extra 2.5 hours to California.Re: Pros/cons of Host vs Arctic Fox Madison1988 wrote: Hi all, Looking for some thoughts on these two brands. I am looking for the good the bad and the ugly between these two. Warranty issues, poor attention to detail, leaking issues etc Thank you Host has excellent customer service. We picked up a new Mammoth in Az. The end of Sept and took a 6 week trip through the southwest. Our last night out we hit a low hanging tree branch and took out the escape hatch. I called Host and they shipped me a new one the next day. Anytime I call with questions my call is answered by one of the owners. On our trip we experienced temperature swings from 108 in Ca. to 28 in the Grand Canyon and stayed very comfortable. Our wish list for improvment is that we would like more counter space so we are adding a flip up extension where the magazine rack is. Also we would like the sewer hose connection to come out a little further so residue does not drip in the outside compartment. A great product and very adequate for a long road trip.Re: Eagle cap 960 falling apart?I picked up a new Host mammoth the end of September and spent 6 weeks in it. I have been very impressed with the quality. It is my third truck camper. It is by far the best one yet. I had a Palomino maverick and an Okanagan. My experience with customer service with Host has been outstanding. On our return trip we hit a low hanging tree branch and smashed the escape hatch. I called Host and spoke with one of the owners and he shipped me a new hatch the next day.Re: Best Truck Camper madeThe pantry to me is one of the major selling points of this camper. It makes it so easy to find everything and keep supplies organized. I had plenty of room for everything. The reworked bathroom door is very solid and very attractive.Re: Best Truck Camper madeYou cannot access the inside with the slides in but it takes only a few seconds to push the buttons to open them. You do not need to open them fully to gain access Slides work fine on battery power.Re: Best Truck Camper madeYes, we have already had 8 people tour our camper and all were amazed at what they saw.Re: Best Truck Camper madeNot sure how to attach pictures of this unit but there are plenty online at www.hostcampers.comBest Truck Camper madeRecently purchased a Host Mammoth truck camper and can't say enough good things about it. It is unbelievable how much room there is in it. We just spent 6 weeks in it on a cross country trip and never felt the least bit crowded. The floor plan is very functional and we were amazed at all the extra features it had that were not even in the advertisements for it. Lights in the awning, outside area lights great for hooking on at night or just sitting outside. The fireplace was perfect for heating as well as ambiance. We went through 80 degrees of weather change on our trip from 108 in Ca.to 28 in the mountains of Az. and were very comfortable. The slide out storage tray is an excellent addition and allowed us more than ample room for all our gear In addition to a great product, the after purchase customer service is outstanding. We had a slight mishap on our return trip and needed to replace our escape hatch. I called Host and my call was answered by one of the owners who shipped the part that day.
