However, I never liked the look of the white plastic front since it seemed to always catch my eye. I took a 3/4" piece of wood, stained it to match the table, cut off the rounded part of the white plastic, and secured it from the top with screws. (Don't cut the entire handle off just the very front part) The wood fits in the "groove" left, and it now blends in nicely with the table. This is an easy thing to do....and the DW loves it.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos sanshansean wrote: So whats the deal? The topic keeps jumping around to whatever? Where are the Moderaters when you need them! Check out the title of the forum..It's Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products and Gizmos" What are you expecting? This isn't a single topic. I for one am glad for the free exchange of information and this is one of the most useful and informative forums out there. If you don't like the "jumping around" there are plenty of other forums out there for very specific topics. In fact, why not start one and deal with whatever you think is missing here? No reason you have to come here and be bothered. The moderators ARE doing their job and letting this wide open forum be exactly what it is.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosFound this form as a result of the info here...and it's a good one... FileOfLife It's called File of Life, and I don't know if it's the same as the one mentioned, but it looks good. Thanks for bringing up this important topic!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosThermacell is FANTASTIC. Kind of expensive, but kept the Maine and NH mosquito's (AKA B-52's) off of us. One night we were doing fine when all of a sudden we started getting bitten....sure enough we ran out of Butane in the Thermacell. We don't go anywhere without it now.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosRegarding outdoor fans. Sorry I should have posted a link in the original post. I paid $39.00 at Lowes, though it's now $49 and here is the exact fan; Lowes Check out the reviews as well...I ve posted a few.... It really does move a lot of air quietly. This one is very similar at Home Depot, and is $49 Stanley Fan Good luck. Paul Reviews from Lowe's site Message from Three Sisters from Mississippi and Texas - Jun 18, 2010 Review: A wonderful little fan. We bought three last night when our a/c went out and ran all three all night. Unbelievable the amount of air it puts out. We returned a large tower fan because the little one outperformed the larger tower. very powerful fan Message from Eevilbob from Fresno Ca. - Jun 8, 2010 Review: this is small and works like a champ. I keep it blowin on me while i'm asleep. I had to set it to the lowest setting cuz it really kicks out some air. I will be recomending this powerful wind machine to everyone. If your looking for some serious air circulation. this is definatly the fan your looking for Message from Keith from Highland, California - Sep 5, 2009 Review: This is the best fan I have ever owned. It really pushes the air around. Light, compact, and the ability to direct the air up makes a big difference with our vaulted ceiling. I am going to buy a second one tomorrow. Best fan ever Message from docwood from carson - Aug 24, 2009 Review: My girlfriend and I love it. The most effective fan I ever owned. moving the air Message from mccain from orlando fl - Jun 22, 2009 Review: this is an amazing product it moves some serious air!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosIn our stick and brick home we love sitting outside even in HOT southern weather since our ceiling fans help us keep cool. On the road sometimes it gets too hot outside...but no ceiling fan of course. We've tried portable fans but they are either too loud or don't have enough volume. We finally found the perfect answer in a "floor fan" or squirrel fan from Lowes. It is the kind used to dry rugs or floors, is compact, inexpensive and produces a huge volume of air ( we seldom turn it past 1 of 3 speeds. Has really added to our outdoor time.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosIt seems that there's always something to do under the coach or under the toad...and it's tough to slide under there. After scraping around in the dirt, gravel and cement, I finally came up with a way that makes working under there MUCH easier. I got a 1/4" sheet of melamine, the shiny white coated stuff at Home Depot or Lowes and cut a strip to the size of my biggest compartment. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to slide under now as the melamine is slick. It weighs almost nothing and fits in the bottom of the compartment so really takes no space. Wish I had thought of this earlier. Would have saved some scrapes, ruined shirts and lots of aggravation. PaulRe: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosTododoodle.com Many of us keep to do lists, or "honey do" lists. The problem I have is that I either can't find the list, or it isn't where I need it when I need it. There's a free solution, stupid name, excellent product. Toodledo It allows you to set up lists on your PC, but also works on many phones and most phones that have internet access. The lists can be set up by priority, by date, and by topic. For example, I have 3: Coach Home Misc There are many ways to search and sort. I like it when I'm out and I remember something...make a quick note on the phone, it sync's up instantly with the web/pc version and I now have it where I can find it. It can also store files and notes. Have found it to be extremely useful when planning a trip. Enjoy PaulRe: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosWe just added a rack and Molle bag to the back door of our Toad. Springtail It is a great way to store things in an unused part of you toad and is tremendously useful for offroading. The bags are of extremely high quality and are reasonably priced, considering how well they are made. You'll be surprised by how useful it is. PaulRe: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI posted this in the general section and should have posted it here. ================================================= I ran across this specialized search engine, pdfgeni.com, which seems to have a lot of excellent info in PDF format. When possible, I try to keep all of my manuals in PDF format and bring them on the coach and also on my iphone. The search feature is sometimes useful. The search display is limited, so you may have to fine tune your search by using standard search "fine tuning" methods. For example, a "Norcold" alone search produces some good hits, but using the plus or minus character focuses it well. For example, "Norcold +1200" produces a concise list with owners manual, service manual, tips etc. I've found some great info here and I hope it helps you as well. Paul PDF GENI-Click here
