Question I have is for this engine have people seen the mileage go up much after awhile? I only have 4k miles thus far. One thing I noticed is I always seem to be getting good mileage with the top half of the fuel tank and then once the gauge shows half full, seems to go down much more quickly. Half on the gauge is not quite half in the tank!Re: Covered versus Outside Storage CostI'm paying $60/mo for general uncovered lot south of Denver area. They got everyone crammed in there too. Looked at covered that was about $135/mo, but bought a cover for it for the winter. Bad thing about those covers is they wear out and get holes fairly easily. I will say I saw a 20 yr old Winnie that had been kept in a garage most the time and it still looked like was 1 year old (the paint). Whereas some that I see kept outside are completely faded out and look very weathered after 10 years.Re: Looking at entry level Class As.....right now, the advice I would give to someone looking to buy a new RV, is to not buy a new RV. Instead buy a 1-2 year old RV if you can find. For us getting a new RV a year ago has been good at times and frustrating due to having to get so many issues fixed. And its quite an ordeal scheduling and bringing the unit in for repair. I'm talking simple things like trim inside and out just falling off and awning issues, leaky faucets etc. Let someone else get it all fixed and then buy it.Re: Thor Axis 24.1 Owner/Driver ExperiencesMy wife and I are looking at buying a new Axis as well. We're in Colorado but looking to buy out of state. We currently have a Gulfstream TT. From reading about RV's and TT's it seems they all have their little issues that need fixed, I know our tt had its share of issues. We were looking at Class C's but we rented one and I wasn't too impressed, driving was sloppy, lots of wind noise and then the cab is basically not used when your camped. The Axis seems to address these issues. An improved suspension from the standard Class C and more room. Really like the cab chairs, swivel them around and their part of the room. The couch seems really nice and turns into a nice big bed. Most of the time will just be my wife and I and the dog, so the floorplan seems like it would work for us. We'll be talking to the dealer this week.Re: Purchase Out Of Area &Warranty Issues NMace wrote: We are seriously considering the purchase of a new Thor Axis from a dealer a 1,000 miles away to save nearly $8,000.00 on the purchase price over the local Camping World dealer. Will we face service and warranty issues because we did not buy from the local dealer? Is it worth $8,000.00 to avoid a potential hassle? Neil I'm looking at doing the exact same thing, here in Colorado CW is way higher than several other places in other states. We're looking at the Axis too, but the one in CW had several broken things on it as well. And then the guy didn't even call us back.
