These sats will not pose any low elevation problems any where east of the Mississippi river. I have used my Pathway X2 all up the east coast into Nova Scotia and PEI Canada without a problem. When I go west I switch to the Western arc satellites 110, 119,& 129. Second, I have used the X2 with as much as 125' of low loss RG6 cabling with no problems. Good information, especially the length of coax. Thanx!Transition to Dish from DirecTV?I'm considering moving to Dish from DirecTV, but have a question. A little background: I've been on DirecTV for many years using an 18" dish with SD. I have no problem at all aligning the dish and can usually do it in less than 5 minutes. I've never had a problem finding "holes" in the tree canopy and I am able to hit the 101 satellite 99.5% of the time, although in some locations I have to extend my coax out for more than 100 feet. My receivers are MPEG4 capable for whatever DirecTV does in the future with the 101 satellite. I'm looking at the Winegard Pathway X2 (if I go to Dish Network) which has a recommended max cable length of 50 ft. I need two outputs from the dish. My questions are for those of you who have gone from DirecTV SD using a manually set up dish to Dish Network using a Pathway X2 or something similar: Do you find that the lower elevation of the Dish satellites cause a problem finding a path to see the satellites? I'm in the Southeast, so the elevation would be as low as 37 degrees. Do you find that the 50 foot limitation in the Pathway X2 cable length a limitation? The requirement for Dish HD to see three satellites would require a larger "hole" in the trees. Has this been a limitation? I don't mind staying with DirecTV and SD (as long as it lasts) if I have to to get better coverage, but would rather move to Dish.Re: Anybody tried the new Recreation.gov website? The new website is in it's infancy. There will be more capabilities coming that were not possible with the old website which are described in the following article. Some of these are good, some I have reservations about, particularly the immediate inventory. I think there will be some challenges in making this work at some of the smaller campgrounds. Here's the article: October 11 RV TravelRe: Is this even possible? If you don't want to, or can't pull one camper in, just get a pop-up style canopy to provide a common area to share with your friends. Locate it on one of the sites. Try to select a site that lots of room on the awning side for the canopy. Maybe even pull tables together if they aren't chained down.Re: New 5th wheel adjustmentLower the hitch, but not so low that you can't see to hook up. Especially if you are looking over a bed mounted tool box.Re: some day? I'd love to have oneI wonder what a driverless vehicle does when it's GPS system says "turn right in 20 feet" and there's a corn field there? A system is only as strong as it's weakest link!Re: Power Converter IssuesHad the same problem. Lights would slowly dim intermittently and stay low 10 to 30 seconds, then slowly come back up. The transition high to low and low to high would take as much as 20 seconds. Didn't seem to be related to temperature, load or vibration. Sometimes it would go 10 minutes between "dips", sometimes it would dip again immediately. I was suspecting both the battery and the converter, and trying to determine which it was, when I caught the voltage going low with the battery disconnected. Replaced the converter - all is well. An intermittent heavy load causing the voltage to go low (or an auto-reset breaker tripping in and out) would likely show up as an instantaneous change, not a slow transition. So, if your transitions are slow, I would put my money on the converter.Re: Pickensville Campground COEPickensville is an excellent campground, although it is off the beaten path. All facilities should be open. The sites are large, well laid out and level. The CG is very flat and bicycle friendly. Power is 30/50 amps. There are some full hookup sites. They have a good dump station. Enjoy watching the tugs and barges go by on the river!Re: Ram 3500 questions? Help me . Greene728 wrote: Truck in my sig has the 3:42. Fuel mileage is 16.5–18 normal every day driving, and seen 20-22 on interstate just cruising at 70ish. Towing it’s worst has been 10.2 and best of 11.8. All mpg numbers are fully stock. Lock out 6th gear, engage EB and TH and it’s a pulling beast. Same here - 2013 model SRW, same rear end. Dragging 11,800 lbs. I get 11.5 to 12.2 mpg. I also lock out 6th unless I'm in the flatlands. Love the exhaust brake. No regrets for me on the SRW, however, if you think there's a chance you will ever be pulling a camper that requires the extra pin weight capacity then go with the dually.Re: Autoleveling - Rear Too Low / Drag on Ground??? Open RangeI have only about 8" ground clearance on the rear landing gear on my Montana High Country. It's not as bad as it seems though, because the landing gear is pretty close behind the rear wheels. I was worried about tall speed bumps, sharp inclines, dropping a wheel into a deep hole, etc. That hasn't been a problem. I did, however, drag the gear once when I pulled out of my driveway, cut the corner too sharp, and dropped a wheel off where the pavement is higher than the ground. The ground was soft from recent rains and the wheel sank in the ground. It didn't hurt the gear, but I think if the impact had been any greater it would have. One thing you do have to watch out for, though, is backing into a campsite with a curb at the end. Some of the curbs are higher than the bottom of the leveler.
