Our planned route is I-80 to Salt Lake City, then I-15 to I-70. Looking at the map, we see a shortcut using US Hwy 50 from I-15 to I-70. The map says it's 30 miles (vs more than 100 on the interstates). But is that stretch of Hwy 50 from Scopio to Salina OK for motorhomes? We would appreciate any comments. It will be our first time on I-70 west of Denver. From Denver we will continue to our home in Oklahoma.Re: Tioga PassMany thanks for all the good advice. My husband is even more grateful. He really didn't want to unhook the car.120 from Lee Vining to MoccasinWe plan to drive our 30-ft Class A with toad from Lee Vining to Moccasin through Yosemite. Is the 120 portion from Groveland to Moccasin difficult in a motorhome? I saw a couple of reports about lots of hairpin curves. Would really appreciate the opinion of an RVer who has driven this road.Tioga PassWe plan to drive up to Tioga Pass from the east in a couple of days. Read that some RVers unhook tow car for the climb. How long would we drive downhill, separately, on the west side before being able to stop and hook up again? Our motor home is 30 ft. class A.99 vs. 395 to YosemiteWe plan to drive to Yosemite from Oklahoma in late June in our 30-foot Class A with tow car. After Barstow, looks like we can go north on either 395 or 99/140. What are the pros and cons of these two options? We would greatly appreciate any suggestions.Re: Oklahoma City transit I-40 to I-35The easiest route would be I-40 to I-35, except during rush hour. If you are coming from the west and going north on I-35 during rush hour, the Kilpatrick Turnpike is the best option to bypass Oklahoma City.Montana 89, 12 and 83 vs. I-90 and 93 to Glacier? In Montana, Good Sam's Trip Planner has chosen highways 89, 12 and 83 for our drive to Glacier NP in late August. Looking at the map, I would have stayed on I-90 after Livingston and turned north on 93 just after Missoula. What are the advantages/disadvantages of these two routes? We are driving a 30' motorhome with tow. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.California 101 to YosemiteWe will be driving south from Oregon on 101 in early September. Our plan is to turn inland somewhere north of San Francisco and go directly to Yosemite. What is the best route? As much as possible, we would like to avoid steep hills, curves and big cities. We are driving a 30-foot Class A with tow car. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.Best route Oklahoma-GlacierWe are planning our first trip to Glacier NP from Oklahoma in late August. Is I-90 or I-80 the better route west for folks who prefer the least steep curves? And going north on 93, after the town of Pablo, is 93 or 35 the easier option? Our 30-ft Class A will be towing a small Jeep. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated. We also thank those who responded to previous questions about Glacier for very helpful information.Re: Pinewoods&Gulf Coast TexasA couple of years ago, we very much enjoyed camping in Galveston Island State Park. Our RV was parked just a sand dune away from the beach. A nice hiking trail in the state park, the beach and a lovely seafood dinner in the nearby city of Galveston made this a memorable stay. The drive from Houston to Galveston Island was no problem for our 30-foot motorhome with tow car. It's a good idea to make reservations for the RV park.
