I buy new because I keep things forever.Re: Purchasing a Livin Lite proving to be a real pain rant. When shopping for a travel trailer, I found it best to find several models that meet your needs. With that, you can seek out several dealers and negotiate the most favorable out the door price for you. MSRP's mean nothing. The out the door price is what counts. When you are set on one model, you severely limit your ability to negotiate.Re: Thermopolis, WyomingI used to have to go there with work quite a bit. As was mentioned, the Wind River Canyon is quite incredible. The hot springs are nice as well. Not sure if it is still there but the Holiday Inn had an incredible collection of wild game mountings and photos. I think the owner was a big hunt and kill guy. Pretty easy drive from there up to Cody.Re: name sign holders ChopperBill wrote: Guess I'm kinda different. I don't want my full name and home location out where every scam artist and crook can see it. That's why we don't use our real names or location.Re: Just bought our first RVI would suggest you get a sway bar in your towing set up. May not always be necessary but when it is, you'll be glad you have it. You'll need to figure out what you are going to do with your sink water and you will need a water supply hose. You will find you will need lots of little things so as was mentioned, take your first trip near civilization so you can get what you need. Before you head out, practice hooking up, unhooking, putting the trailer up and putting it back down. Most of all, ENJOY!Re: Warning -- fiberglassGosh, wonder if my polyester trousers are safe?Re: Bad Business Practice at Holiday World in League City Tx.We had the same thing happen on a vehicle from a dealer in San Antonio. Kinda stinks.Re: TT choices with a Hemi Jeep Grand Cherokee (specs inside)Can't help you with the math but, I have a 2013 Jeep with the same set up. My trailer weighs between 6,000 and 6,500# loaded and it tows just fine.Re: Surprises with First NEW TTSo, if this was your third travel trailer, didn't you already have that stuff? Not being critical, just a question.Re: Advice for a newbieWith your Jeep, I would try to stay around a dry weight of 4,000 to 5,000#. That will give you plenty of cushion for towing and give you plenty of trailer for your needs. Outdoor kitchens are nice. I do all the cooking and do it all outside but I use a Weber grill or a Coleman 2 burner stove. They work just fine for my needs. But really it is up to you. Consider whether you want a shower only or a tub with shower curtain. That sometimes makes a difference in the floor plan configuration. We have a nice sized shower with a solid door and love it. Our Freedom Express has two slides, one for the dinette and one on the other side for the stove and pantry and we have a kitchen island where the sink is. Slides really open up the space but also add weight. You have to decide whether the additional weight is worth the additional space. Good luck in your search.
