Marathon: Lazy Days on the water good sunsets great food and happy hour Big Pine: Buck Tail Roosters and the No Name PUB..best pizza in the Keys Sugar Loaf Key: Mangrove Mamma's good bands and great seafood Stock Island: Hog Fish Grill Key West: Grands on Duval St OMG and Commodores at the marina best happy hour in Key west and inexpensive at happy hour.Re: Can I use a WDH on a DPThe problem with being overweight is "you're overweight"! That's why they have scales and commercial vehicles not only have a GVWR but they also must meet their axle weight limits. That 200lbs of tongue weight is certainly added to your back axle(s). Could be you're overweight there also. With all of this being said if you're ever in an accident your overweight condition could be what determines you were ultimately at fault or at least a contributing factor.Re: Last on the road Dutch_12078 wrote: We're not leaving for the south until next week so we can get a couple of new year appointments taken care of. We're currently on our upstate NY pad, and looking forward to enjoying warmer weather soon! We'll be a week behind you.Re: I am ready ! theoldwizard1 wrote: DW can't leave the grandkids for more than a couple of days. Of course, I am not sure how well the two of us would get along in close quarters. Those can be the two downsides that snowbirds and full-timers have to deal with. For us our limit is about 10 weeks. Those grandkids are awesome to be around.Re: Does a snowbird travel around the 'warm' orI always felt the term snowbirds applied to people who came from the north at the beginning of the winter and left at the end of winter. The term was applied by the "locals" who put up with the warmer summers to have the nicer winters. They felt a little bit invaded by these travelers. As to full-timer's vs snowbirds in over 30 years I haven't met a full timer who wintered in the North regardless of their equipment. I haven't met a camper that I didn't like regardless of my stay or location. On the other hand there are a few campgrounds I won't go back to.Re: Any new first-time snowbirds this year?2nd winter in the keys. New Campground. Last year was a disaster as the campground changed the long term manger to an extremely inexperienced person.Re: Your Snowbird experience? The great The keys weather can't be beat. At its coldest it was 10 degree warmer than Miami. Loved the kayaking and fishing. The bad. The manager was new and abusive. Came up with a bunch of new rules that only existed in her head.Re: Battery melt wvabeer wrote: Melted battery terminal . Have you ever fixed One? Melted battery terminal[/quodte] From the looks of it you have either extreme overcharging or a short. If it is only the one battery I would guess it's a bad plate/short. Would recommend you check them all. Re: You can't make this up...got to laugh! Chuck_thehammer wrote: So,,, did the OP get his system fixed and continued on his way ????? . 5 days now !!!. None of the cold front that slammed the SE. Made reservations for rv resorts in Fayetteville to sit out the Nor Easterner. The A/C compressor took a dump and ate the serpentine belt just above Hardeeville, SC. Sat on the side for 3 hours for a tow. Air conditioning and snow storm. Oh well. Hopefully back on the road Thursday and the grand daughter Friday.
