Also North Spokane RV Campground. Open to others for sure.Re: Kz Durango 2500We have a 2016 Durango 2500 purchased new in July 2015. We have towed it at least 20,000 mile in about all terrain. It has been almost trouble free. Had a small water leak due to a washer being in backwards. No damage as not a big leak. Otherwise all good. Replaced the tires recently as did have a blowout going to FL. but thought the originals had done OK. We have 2 A/C but the bedroom AC is too loud to run while sleeping. However we do run the bedroom AC while watching TV in the living room. Set a small fan on bedroom dresser and circulate the cool air. Makes watching TV more enjoyable without the main AC running. Ours is rear living, front bedroom. We are very happy with our RV and have looked at new RV's at shows, etc and always ending up saying "we like ours better". Good luck.Spokane WAWill be spending a few days near Spokane on our way to the Olympic peninsula so looking for an RV park. We generally like FH, pulling a 35' 5th Wheel. Also wanting to do some kayaking while in the area. Since we are beginners at kayaking and have a 2 person inflatable we are looking for something fairly tame. Will be looking to do kayaking throughout WA and OR. Likely go south out of Spokane to tour the Palouse then to Mt rainier. TIAMt RainierLooking for suggestions for an RV campground to explore the area for a few days in early August. 35 ft 5th wheel. Prefer full hookups but can make do with electric only for a few days. Coming from the east. Thanks in advance. Also what are some things to see while there?Re: Olympic National ParkThanks for all the input. We can definitely dry camp when needed. Considering Elwha Dam and a couple of others. Looking forward to seeing the area. Is late July and August wet?Olympic National ParkPlanning to spend some time in the area of Olympic NP this summer. I see a lot of campgrounds but not so many with the full hookups, etc (and good reviews) that we like when traveling. Which is the best side of the park to stay, probably about a week in the area. Would like to go whale watching plus hiking and touring in the park and the area. Any specific campgrounds for a 35 ft 5th wheel? Will be coming from or going to Mt Rainier. ThanksRe: 2019 SummerFrom central Illinois to the Washington/Oregon area in late summer, probably about 5 weeks. Olympic Nat Park, Mt Rainer, Columbia River, and the Oregon coastRe: Review of our shakedown Florida tripGlad you had a good trip. We were on about the same timeline but we went down and back thru Alabama. First night at Birmingham South RV and second night at Tallahassee RV Park, both were good for a one night. We stayed a few days at Riverside RV Resort near Arcadia FL, and like it very much, everyone was so friendly. Then stayed a few days at Cypress Trails RV Resort at Ft Myers and that spoiled us. Expensive but very nice. Very nice facilities and friendly people. We decided that's what retirement should feel like. This was kind of a shakedown trip for us as well although it was our second trip. Ft Myers is crowded but we stayed mostly at the resort enjoying the warm weather.Re: Birmingham I 65Thanks to all. I will try to beat the work traffic. Never like the rough roads but hopefully it will be Ok.Re: Birmingham I 65How do you go around Brm to the east? It looks like a ways if you go to 459? We were thru Brm a couple of years ago and I agree it was rough, is it worse now? Are there long delays. Probably be going thru apprx rush hour. Re: Atlanta. We will likely come home thru Atlanta but it will be on a Sunday.
