Find it HERE Scroll down page for the RV-ready model. Not bad for an RV-ready gen with electric start, although my ELM 3000 starts first pull anyway.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Professor, Can you explain why "grounding is not an issue" when running the gen in the back of a pickup? Is that method theoretically safer than running the gen while it's sitting on the ground? I am thinking back to much earlier posts about grounding rods, open circuits, surge protectors, etc. ThanksRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.So are some Pep Boys stocking the Champion now? I'm starting to lose track of which stores are stocking which gens.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. All I can tell you is that several people on here have successfully done that, rewired for full power from one outlet. I haven't done it, but the info is here in the thread if you have the time to read through. Someone else will probably chime in. If you are sure that the ebay seller sent you a different brand than advertised, he should accept a return and refund you. The seller probably doesn't know the difference since they look alike, maybe you could explain that to him. Good luckRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.jmhouse, I had a voltage fluctuation issue with my ELM 3000 until I replaced the stock outlets with better quality----no more fluctuation. Smoke from exhaust? Not normal, could be that your unit was turned upside down for awhile in transit and oil flowed to places it shouldn't. Didn't you say it was damaged when you received it? Bet it layed/dropped on it's side or upside down during shipping. Smoke should clear up eventually, how much have you run it so far?Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.AlaTex, Be advised that my ELM 3000 came with oil already in it. (surprised me too) You might check before adding any. I switched it to Mobil 1, not sure what the "factory" oil was.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Professor, I have the RV electrical surge protector with GFI shown in this link: http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index.cfm?deptID=&subOf=98,55&skunum=18337 Should that item protect me and the RV appliances provided I am using it on whatever source of power the RV is connected to, generator or shore power? Thanks.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.It doesn't offend me personally, but there have been alot of posts on this forum that were dis-allowed for "advertising" that were alot more subtle and less obvious than yours. Criticizing the forum members who contribute technical knowledge and research to this discussion probably won't win you many friends here either.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Bought my ELM 3000 because of this thread.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Looks like ebay categories to me. There are quite a few on there, but of course shipping cost hurts the deal a little.
