All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Voltage Screw ProblemI had to do the exact same thing to mine. I still find another broken screw about every trip out.Re: Curt X5 adapterI use an X5 with a Curt Q20 all on the B&W turnover. I needed a 20K hitch and the B&W Companion was only rated at 18K. It solved my problem nicely, and leaves the bed empty when removed. I had to shim the bottom of the X5 to keep it from rocking, but now it doesn't move at all.Re: bit by the schwintek snake, voltage 3600The windows are closed, correct? You need to put the shades up to verify the windows are closed prior to pulling the slides in. These slides really only work right if the trailer is parked and leveled. If its trying to push the slide uphill, its gonna struggle. The other thing, is the tracks need to be kept clean (think wash the slides while they are out) and lubed with silicon spray lube. Try no to carry extra stuff in the slide. It just weighs it down and makes it too difficult for the little motors to move.Re: My first trip out, very overweight. While I have seen lots of SRW trucks pulling the same trailer as mine, I would never do it. Personally, I have never seen a dually upside down in the ditch. Can't say that about SRW truck/fiver combos.Re: How to get toys to trails? You could unhitch the toy hauler and put one in the bed of the truck. With a special rack on the truck, you could take two.Re: New Goodies and Mod'sInstalled 810 watts of solar this year (last year was batts and inverter), Genturi, under counter reverse osmosis system, water softener, and maxxair vent covers. We were able to boondock for 10 days at a time during the winter in Arizona. The trailer is about where I want it now.Re: 2012 Dutchman Voltage ReviewI still believe that the people that don't like their Voltage fall into 1 of 2 categories: Either they didn't do a thorough PDI (like 4 hours worth) and make the dealer fix all issues before ever hitching it up to their truck, or they special ordered one and the guys at Dutchmen on the production line knew it was already sold and rushed it out the door. If a unit is already sold when it arrives at the dealer, they don't spend the time to do a good inspection like they do to the ones that are going onto the lot.Re: What Are Your Plans For Christmas & New Years?Ogilby Rd for a week before heading up to Quartzsite in January.Re: New to toy haulersWater in the holding tanks will make a much bigger difference than where you happen to park the quads. Put them where its convenient.Re: 2012 Dutchman Voltage ReviewI would say I got a good one, but I have had problems, but none weren't anything I couldn't take care of. I did a thorough PDI and had a few things fixed on the spot and the dealer ordered a couple things I found on the PDI. After our first trip, it went to the dealer for a week. One of the gutter extensions was missing, and the big one was the rear awning fell off the first time we used it. That was about it. On subsequent trips, the WFCO water pump and transfer switch croaked. I removed them and took them to the dealer and they tested them and gave me credit for new ones. I then upgraded both to US made versions. The tires were******and I replaced those with G rated tires. We just spent two months in it and the only problem was the screw heads popping off on the slides. The screws seem to shear where they go into the steel structure and I think it it caused by the slide motors pushing the slide up tight against the trailer when we close them. I replaced about 50 screws in total with stainless steel screws and recaulked the seams. Gotta remember that we have put over 8K miles on it and spent a total of 4 months living in it though. IMO, these things are always going to have problems and you have to spend a little time getting them right. Expecting perfection on something this big and complicated at this price point is a lost cause. There are RV manufactures that offer lifetime warranties, but you have to write a check in the deep 7 digits.
