I wanted to replace them with the folding aluminum old style step. The camper does have the brackets needed, but they are about 1" to narrow to install the same width steps as the Moryde steps. so the brackets would have to be moved or go to a much narrower step. For now I have abandoned the idea.Re: Exterior StairsMake sure that Morryde will work before you decide on the steps that fold into the camper door. The steps fold out over the door threshold. Some doors are tight fitting on the bottom at the threshold and do not have room to close after the steps are installed. I installed them in 2008 Cardinal and had to modify the door by cutting it and the screen door off. Not an easy task.Re: Re-level 5er with lippert hydraulicsI have done a relevel a couple of times. I don't put the slides in. Just push the level button. Keep in mind that the trailer will not return to hitch height when you hit the hitch button. it will go to where it was before you did the last level. you will need to manually get the trailer to the correct height to with up.Re: 2003 Forest River Cardinal 29WBWe had a 2008 Cardinal that we used for 10 years with minimum problems. The WB represents Wide Body.Re: Best route to Cass, WV from the northI would travel the Moorfield/Petersburg route, 250 is not a very RV friendly route. I recommend East Fork Campground and Stables in Durbin or the recently reopened Boyer Station Campground in Boyer. There will be no cell phone service so you will need Wifi for communicating. Both campgrounds have it. The Durbin Rocket, a coal fired scenic train is in Durbin. You can watch it from the East Fork Campground or board it there too. It travels a section of the Greenbriar River. Don't miss a chance to visit the National Radio Astronomy Observatory while you are in the area.It is in Greenback WV. The Observatory is the reason there is no cell service.I prefer the East Fork Campground for its scenic setting, the owner has lived all of his life and is very knowledgeable about the history of the area. He has relatives in Cass. Enjoy our Wild and Wonderful State, like the song says Almost Heaven.Re: Dish Tv help neededI had DISH change from hopper and 2 joeys to 3 Wallys in my house. They tried the SOLO switch but ended up running 3 separate coax from the LNB one to each Wally. I also have the 1000.2 antennae.Re: New Outside StairsIf you have an older camper you may have problems with door clearance. I had to cut the bottom of the door off to get the door to close on my 08 Cardinal and my friends 2011 Montana. The steps fold out over the door threshold and require more room than a normal door. Had to cut the screen door too.Re: Newer 5ers, Slider Hitch Required For Short Beds?Answer is yes and no. I have towed different 5ver with a Dodge short bed and Ford short bed trucks without using a slider. I did damage the cab of the Dodge backing into my driveway. I did not slide the slider back because I had done it many times before without using the slider. This time when the truck went into the small dip at the beginning of my driveway, the trailer hit the cab of the truck. I now tow with a short Bed Ford and B&W hitch that is not a slider and have never had a problem, but I sure do pay attention. The unlevel terrain will cause more trouble than the sharp turns.Re: Hitch hits rails of RetraxI consider 13'6" max safe height. That is the height of the box trailers hauled by the big rigs. If you stay at 13'6" you should be safe on the main highways.Re: Hitch hits rails of RetraxI don't know what your pin box looks like. On my 08 Cardinal I cut the back corners of the pin box on a 45* angle to prevent it from hitting on the bed rails.
