How many of us out there?I'm going to re-read through the posts here but wanted to get input from people that did this awhile ago and posted about it or haven't posted about it. I have a 2015 Majestic 28A and am going to upgrade steering and suspension to be more comfortable and stable on the highway. I have a Roadmaster return to center shock. What other upgrades made the biggest difference? Rear track bar? Front/rear anti-sway bars? Shocks.... Koni, Bilstein, other? Something else?Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? When we picked up our 2015 28a from ca kissimmee, they have us a 30a to 15a (house plug)adapter, 25ft water hose. The sewer hose is basically built-in to the sewer compartment and included (only has the bayonet fitting on one end) and the 25ft 30a power cord is included and bracketed down to the compartment but is removable and there is a standard power port in the compartment. They also give you the book that they give their renters and a paper on winterization. You might be able to get some previous work done (invoices) if you ask (probably ahead of time, Jason at kissimmee had to research it since) Both engines that come with these campers need spark plugs and coils at about 100k miles so try to confirm that it's been done or plan on doing it. Whether doing it yourself or having someone do it, shop around because 8 to 10 coils and plugs adds up... We found a good deal on Denso at rock auto.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Right. There is a power block and ground block in that space and we tapped in to that. Works off of the house battery.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? In ours we put a 750 watt inverter under the bench with the other electrical and then connected one plug to a surface mount surge protector under the bench and the the other power plug and the USB plug go to surface mount power and USB ports on the passageway side. We put in a battery disconnect key to turn it on and off. It can't handle everything and it doesn't power the other plugs throughout but it is perfect for powering things while going down the road. Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? For us, buying from Florida and living in SC... They only have us a temp Florida tag and the paperwork that we needed. Title was mailed to us and we handled everything in our own States's DMV and tax office.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Floridastorm, the 3 month warranty is mainly for powertrain wear and tear but I was able to get vehicle and house issues repaired or replaced. The starter and coils/plugs tune-up was deemed normal maintenance and not covered. I purchased mine in Orlando and they are great but I'd recommend having an inspection done before you pick it up. Get as much done while it's on their lot.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? With the trailer hitch. The sticker on my hitch that is under the 2500lb CA sticker appears to show a tongue weight of 600lbs. The class iii hitches for ford vans on etrailer all say 600lb tongue, 6000lb trailer and if you have weight distribution then it's 800/8000 It would be really nice if someone here actually has a picture of the sticker that is under the 2500lb CA sticker though. The other sticker on mine says 4 winds 5k So there's that too...Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Do you have any ideas which upgrades to steering and suspension made the most difference? We already had the steering bits that were bad replaced and an alignment (desperately needed) and added the roadmaster steering shock (I'm thinking I have to adjust it though) The rear antisway seems very thick already but it looks like the front could use replacement. I'd personally love to lower the toilet in the 28a (and of course a 50 gallon grey tank)Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? What do they not do with a non refurbished unit? Assume they still have to remove their graphics. I'm guessing they wouldn't repair any issues ounce you pick it up. So you would have to fix everything yourself or pay for the warranty and have to work with them. Seems more worthwhile to let them refurbish it and fix any issues you find. Then just handle anything that comes up later yourself and save the 3700 on the warranty. (Really, you would need both the cab and house warranty to make up for the difference of the lack of refurbishing. Warranty wouldn't cover tires, brakes, alignment etc ... Refurbish makes sure that all of those are a certain 'near new' level or they replace them with new.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Cruise America normally gives you seat covers for the cab. Call the sales guy and he'll get you in touch with the warranty guy. They'll mail you things you find wrong and bigger things they'll have you go to a shop and they work with them. Most things they will work with you on without question. Anything that is basic maintenance will probably not be approved. In my case, that meant the starter and spark plug/coil tune-up that came up.
