From your other post, you were having problems with the generator tripping. Might want to get your ac operating properly before installing your soft start. That would include re installing your 12 volt battery to your rv. The ac will not work properly unless both shore power AND the 12 volt battery are connected. Can't imagine the the soft start will work any better until the ac unit is working properlyRe: AC tripping generatorFor the OP . Here is a some info that might help with the 12volt idea. from above. This guy is pretty good. The entire video is excellent info and offers great stuff, At about 2:15 , he addresses what MIGHT be your problem. At any rate , might be a good place to start https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooPAwYEKbUERe: AC tripping generator Mdk0420 wrote: valhalla360 wrote: Shouldn't need a soft start with a 4500w generator. My best guess is the water heater is on electric and the battery is low so the charger is putting out max charge...that may be enough to push it over the edge. The 12v battery is disconnected. I have it charging for when we go on our vacation in 2 weeks. The hot water heater is off. I don't think mine has an electric option but I have no load amps of a few miliamps even if it did. I've always operated my hot water from a button on my control panel and it runs propane to heat it up but that switch is off You need to reconnect your 12 volt. You need both to properly operate the ac unit. Power to the ac unit is provided by generator or shore power. 12 volt power is needed to tel the ac unit what to do. Might be part of the problem .Puerto Penasco/The ReefIs anyone at the Reef rv park right now? I just left in March. They were aligning the parking when I left. Any current news?Re: Where are all of the snowbirds? JKJavelin wrote: We're late to the party. Left Wisconsin straight south this Monday (while it's snowing of course), and didn't see any rvs that day for 460 miles. Started seeing a few getting near Arkansas (mostly new ones for delivery). Many more on I-30. Almost halfway to our first destination, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, but taking a couple days off near Dallas now. JK Have you been to Organ Pipe before? Just curious. We pass by there a few times a year.Re: Where are all of the snowbirds? Galvanizd wrote: Well, I'm in Nevada right now. Just left Northern Arizona. The place was jam packed. We drove around and there were rv's everywhere. This is our 22nd year. I believe there were more rv'shere than last year.Re: Where are all of the snowbirds?Well, I'm in Nevada right now. Just left Northern Arizona. Heading for the Quartzsite rv show in January. Looks to be interesting. After that, heading down to Puerto Penasco for a bit.Re: Where are the RV's? Lwiddis wrote: "Then on to the Quartzsite Az..." You are right that comparing this year's attendance with previous years will help me determine if people are traveling. Depending on what was seen and who was doing the seein, last year was fairly busy. Some said less people , some said more. This will be our 22...or 23 year, I forget.... and the crowds vary each year. We'll see this year and try to S.W.A.G. a guess.Re: Where are the RV's? mexicoruss wrote: Galvanizd wrote: Hard to estimate the amount of people traveling in their rv's. Here in northern Arizona, we see lots of rv's still on the weekend, although its getting a cooler here now. Had dinner at the local casino, prime rib night and it was packed . Same here , few wearing masks an don't seem to be too concerned. Heading out in the rv next week for a small trip. Then on to the Quartzsite Az rv show in January. This might give an idea as to how many are traveling in their rv's and from where. You get a hundred thousand or so rv's parked in the desert, easier to see where they're from. After that, heading back down to mexico. See what's up there We may see you at the show, if we go it will be on behalf of the tourism department of Puerto Penasco. I will post if we get the go ahead this year. I believe I met you there a couple of years ago? Wasn't there a booth in the tent? .....or we'll see you at the Reef in February when you being some caravans in?
