Hailstorm first, then tornado hit around 8:30. I'm sure a lot of folks were still asleep. We would have been. Just terrible.Re: Cape May or Wildwood, NJThanks for all your suggestions. Just booked at The Depot Travel Park because it's close to where the rest of the family have rented a cottage. Decided we didn't really need the pools and activities since we'll be mostly on the beach. Anybody ever been there? Didn't find any mentions of it in the last 12 months on this forum, but rvparkreviews.com have been generally positive. Let me know what you think.Cape May or Wildwood, NJThinking about August as yet another snowstorm barrels down on Virginia. What's your favorite campground in the Cape May/Wildwood vicinity and why? We stayed at Big Timber a couple years ago, which was ok, but I know other campgrounds are closer to the beach. We have a midsized travel trailer, older kids and dogs. We'd like some shade if possible, sites not on top of each other, and less expensive than Big Timber if that's even possible. Otherwise we're not too picky. Let me know your favorites, and thanks.Re: Anyone been to Bar Harbor (MD) lately? No water sites available unfortunately, but we'll make the best. I expect we really won't spend much time at the CG anyway, will be visiting family. Thanks everybody!Re: Anyone been to Bar Harbor (MD) lately? D & M wrote: Where does she live? If' she's north of Balto, you are kind of locked in. Dirt is pretty expensive around here, so there aren't many options. She's in Rosedale, which is NE of the city. Google Maps says about 18 minutes to her house, straight down Pulaski Hwy, does that sound about right? Wonder how bad the skeeters/deer flies/no-see-ums etc. are at the CG?Re: Anyone been to Bar Harbor (MD) lately? Shot-N-Az wrote: It's just okay in my book. If you haven't already, check out the reviews it gets in rvparkreviews.com. I did, and like you, they were lukewarm. But there are NO other campgrounds in that part of MD, but my SIL's house sits on a hill and we couldn't get our rig even close to level last year. Plus we kept blowing her houes fuses!Anyone been to Bar Harbor (MD) lately?Just booked a few days at Bar Harbor RV Park near Abingdon, MD. Any body been there lately? Have been looking for a campground near sister in law in Balto Co. for a while, this one supposedly about 20 minutes from her house. If you've camped there, what did you think? I'm usually not nervous about "breaking in" a new park, but for some reason I have a *feeling* about this place, maybe something I've heard in the past. Anything we should be aware of that's not mentioned on the website? Thanks as always, MaryRe: Campgrounds with water parks/water slidesCherrystone on the Eastern Shore of VA has a nice waterpark--regular and walk-in pools, a lazy river, water wars, etc., plus a separate adult pool, and ponds you can paddleboat in. Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield Co. near Richmond has a waterpark and waterslide, great on weekdays but huge crowds of day users on summer weekends due to urban location. Just got back from Lakewood in Myrtle Beach SC, they have a small indoor pool right on the beach, as well as an outdoor pool. Waterpark under construction, but they didn't appear to be in any hurry to get it open this summer.
