There’s way too much that can contribute to transmission life. And if you’re buying used, the previous owners treatment/maintenance is involved. Bill Navistar doesn't have the HP or torque. Same Allison transmission. I'm not about to do an engine swap. 2012 was the last year (at least for the Tiffin chassis) NOT to have to use DP fluid. I like the fact I can fuel up and go. I think we're getting about 11 MPG towing the Smart. So far no problem getting up some of the hills on I40 in Middle TN. I did finally get my answer from Progressive's website. Under a list of FAQs they suggested against upping the amperage of the converter as it could overload the wiring resulting in overheating. I'll follow their lead and stay with a 60 amp. We have 2 6V GC batteries. All 3 TVs and video equipment run off the inverters. Drains the batteries quick if the converter isn't charging. I have it out of the MH now and plugged in nothing at the leads. All 3 fuses check good. Thanks for everybody's help.371Views0likes0CommentsRe: Converter replacement
Our old unit went out. I'm not very electrically inclined. Perhaps shouldn't be doing this, but the old one came out easy enough. I'm always afraid of buying an electrical unit like this with no return. It's only a few more $$ for the 70 amp and almost $120 for the 80.371Views0likes0Comments
