Not flat but lose 10 lbs if it sat for more than an a month. The trailer is a 2017 so the tires were still in good shape. I took it off and inspected for the usual foreign objects that can cause a leak. No Joy. I figured, well maybe its the bead, so I filled a coleman cooler with soapy water and put most of the tire in and looked for bubbles, which were hard to determine because of the soapy water! No Joy at the bead, valve or tread. By luck, I found the tiniest of pin holes in the casting of the wheel, right behind one of the spokes! That was the leak! I reached out to the vendor that supplied the wheels to the RV manufacturer and they didn't even hesitate to send me a new wheel. SO, if you can't find the leak in the valve or the bead or the tread, KEEP LOOKINGKEEP LOOKING. Best of Luck and Safe travels!Re: Pulling with a Ram 2500I have a 04 RAM diesel and have fuel records from 2004 to date. Towing a 24ft, 7800lb 5th wheel, I got between 9 and 11 MPG towing in the northwest where mountains are real. I recently sold the 5th wheel and bought a 29ft TT which by chance, is also about 7880lbs with SOME stuff in it. Now I get between 8 and 10MPG with an average tow speed on the interstate around 65MPH. The tongue weight is 1000lbs. On the 2004 RAM, the factory hitch is rated for 1200lbs, in the documents I've found. The scale operators near me, frown audibly when I tried to disconnect my trailer from the TV to get the Trailer weight, so I have to find another way to weigh. All of this probably doesn't help answer your question though... No matter what you tow, keep an eye on the transmission temp, it can creep up real quick when it's hot out, the A/C is on and you're pulling up hill. Good luck with your choice and safe travels, no matter where you go..Re: Weight distribution systems, which one is best?FWIW, the neighbor delivers New Air Streams across the northwest using an Air Stream provided company tow vehicle. Their tow vehicles appear to be FORDs, at least that's all I've seen and all use the Blue Ox set up. This is not an endorsement of either FORD or Blue Ox, just tellin ya what I've seen in his driveway. The other point is that these Air Stream trailers are EMPTY, no water or payload of any kind. He tells me he's not had any issue towing. Personally, I have a Eqa-li-zer brand that came with my used TT. I've recently discovered the hitch is at it's limit. The TT is about 7880lbs and Tongue weight with very little in the trailer is 1000lbs measured by a Sherline scale I bought from Sherline. The hitch is rated for 1000lbs, which means it could easily be overloaded when We load up for a trip. The RAM 2500 factory hitch, claims to have a 1200lb max..Hmmmm... I'm considering the Andersen Sway Pro but need more data... I'd love to get a Hensley, but the weight of the Hensley hitch alone, would add another 100 lbs to the tongue.... So, I'm still considering... Best of luck with your choice.
