While GM has various recomendations, my experience with GM trucks is you want the ride height to be as close to the same as possible, never lower, but maybe 1/4-1/2 inch higher with WD hooked up. Don't worry about the back. The front of my truck is just a tad over 1/4 inch higher when hooked up to the trailer. It was setup by the dealership and I double checked their setup once I got the trailer home. Thanks for you comments and help. JimRe: Chevy 1500 vs 2500I would like to thank everyone for the helpful advice. Just a couple of comments; The WD system was setup by the dealer. There is only 1/4 inch difference between the front and back of the truck. The front being higher. And when I mentioned dealership in my original posting, I was referring to the Chevy dealership service department. Now, based on the advice I received from this thread, we (I) have decided a new 2500 is in order after the first of the year.Re: Chevy 1500 vs 2500I want to thank everyone for the useful information. I learned something new, as I was not aware of the P rated tire issue. Now I have some ammo for my argument for a 2500.Re: Chevy 1500 vs 2500Our TV has a standard Chev truck bed (79.2”). I guess they do make a long bed (97.6”). As far as the shocks, the Chev is a 2016 so the shocks should be good. The tires are P265/65R18. So when you say soft P rated tires, is this what you are referring to? And thanks for the replies…Chevy 1500 vs 2500We currently are using a TV Silverado 1500. Our TT is a Heartland QB300 Pioneer. Without getting into weights, I was told by the dealership that our TV should handle our TT without issues. We just got back to Michigan from Gatlinburg, TN. Our TV did not have an issue in the mountains as far as pulling, and maintaining a 60-mph speed, however the ride was horrible. Every time we hit a bump in the road, it seemed like the whole TV shook or bounced (it is the best I can describe it). I told the DW that this little TV is not up to the task, but she said that it pulled up the hills just fine. I told her that if we didn’t get something bigger, then that was the last long trip I’d be taking towing the TT. So, my question is, would a ¾ ton pickup with a trailer package improve the ride pulling a 30 foot TT (GVWR 9000)? Any advice would be appreciated.Re: Leveling chocksI also use Andersen leveler on my 30 travel trailer. But SoundGuy is correct as far as them sinking in soft earth, but then again, so will any blocks to an extent. Another issue that SoundGuy mentions is that they can slip out from under the wheels under certain conditions when backing or driving onto the levelers. I have just ordered some self-adhesive rubber safety matsto attach to the Anderson levelers and hope that will solve the issue of slippage.Re: Mounting a garmin 770I got mine through AmazonRe: Mounting a garmin 770I have used a bean bag for my GPS. I also have a mount that slips into the CD slot that I have not tried yet. Another method I have used is the suction cup mount attacked to the truck’s dash screen (the one that has the icons displayed). Also, the last I checked, it was illegal in over 25 states to attach anything to your windshield.Re: Windows 10 PC staging work slow-downYou didn't mention how much memory/Ram your computer had. From what I have found on our home computers is that 8 gigs is the minimum you'd want to run Windows 10.Re: Thinking about a Barker TOTE, you?I had a 25 gallon Thetford tote and used it for a number of years. When we got our new camper, the grey and black tanks were 35 gallons each. So this year I purchased the 42 gallon Baker tote and am impressed with the quality. The new Baker totes have inflatable rubber tires as I guess the older plastic tires were not holding up well. I think if you purchased the Baker Tote, it will be money well spent.
