The unit has more than likely vibrated a little loose and water on the roof is leaking in under the gasket. Don’t over tighten.Re: Parking on Slopped DriveryYeah, NO. How would you unhitch? Too steep. Now I guess you could park it parallel to the road in your yard at the bottom.....but who would want that? Yuck. Storage lot is the answer.Re: Getting ready to Hit the Road----finally retiredWelcome to the forum and congratulations on retirement. There are so many options when traveling. State Parks, National Parks, Army Corp of Engineering campsites, private campgrounds, RV Resorts, and special club member only resorts, etc. They all have benefits and limitations and costs as you can imagine. I would start before your trip with mapping out your route and then looking at sites like Allstays.com for RV sites along your route. They also include descriptions and reviews which also helps identify what to expect. I also have used google maps to look at aerial views and street views of campgrounds, access routes and roads. I like the Allstays app on my iPad. This gives me maps and helps make the search easier. Other apps and services are useful too. RvParky, RVParking.com and others. Let us know what you are towing and where you are headed and someone on here will have an opinion (guaranteed). ....and will gladly share it. Take only the good and ignore the rest. Again, welcome!Re: Life of AC?It trips the breaker in the RV. It will run until the compressor kicks in and then the breaker trips. The breaker doesn’t seem weak (not soft or easily reset). RV shows 121-118V power while hooked up at home on 30amp connection. The RV is plugged in and runs off and on at home too. We use it at home and the ac helps keep it dehumidified all the time (south FL ...hot and humid). So, 6 years constant use. I had to replace the fan motor once. I did that myself. It was a bearing issue in the fan motor.Life of AC?Our 6 year old Coleman 1350 AC keeps tripping the breaker when the compressor kicks in. The RV shop said the compressor is going and that the life of an AC unit is 3-5 years. Does this sound right? If so, should I replace with a 1500 unit? Will this cool better? If someone has replaced their ac, what was the cost? ( for reference). Thanks, 2014 26’ KZ Spree ConnectRe: Spearfish, SDWe spent a month in Spearfish last summer. We used it as home base and drove to see a lot from there. Devils Tower is an easy day drive, visit, and drive back. In fact we drove from Spearfish to Belle Fourche SD (about 30 miles north) to the geographic center of the US and from there we took Hwy 34/24 to Devils Tower (only 55 miles away) a beautiful drive. Also, I recommend Spearfish Canyon (Hwy alt-14 ) to Cheyenne Crossing. Be sure and eat lunch (or breakfast) at Cheyenne Crossing. It is awesome! That’s all that is at Cheyenne Crossing, as it is just a intersection. Then stay with Hwy alt-14 into the town of Lead, stopping at the Sanford Lab visitor center where they describe the mining and now scientific research inside the 8000 foot mine. Very interesting. Traveling from Lead you will go through Deadwood before heading back to Spearfish. Deadwood is very interesting too. Old town streets and buildings, Street shootouts, casinos, etc. Worth a day all by itself. We also drove from Spearfish to Custer, Badlands, Mt Rushmore, etc.Re: Best places to park the TT @ Yellowstone Campfire Time wrote: Grizzly RV in West Yellowstone. Excellent place. Two minutes from the west entrance. Walking distance to everything in town. 2nd this choice. We stayed at Grizzly for a week this year.Re: Heading to the Rockies for 5 or 6 weeks. Is it the engine size or transmission? I went from a: 2010 F150 5.4L V8 with 6 speed Tran that was slow on the uphill climbs but great with tow-haul going down hill I now have a: 2018 3.5 EgoBoost V6 with 10 speed Tran that was awesome on the uphill climbs and OK on the downhills with tow-haul. I may be tapping the brakes a few more times going down to get it to shift to a lower gear because I now have more gears....I figure that is a transmission difference, not block size. I have noticed rpm stays higher longer at the end of the hill run and it takes longer to get the Tran to shift back to a higher gear after once down.Re: Removing debris from slide outI have a Worx rechargeable leaf blower that I bought at Home Depot. We use it to keep all that nature stuff off our patio rug and they have a gutter cleaning attachment that we use for the slide top. Works great, lightweight and breaks down very small.Re: Lance roof noise? The older I get, the quieter the RV gets.
