You can "customize" the amount of light you want from it.Re: Travel Trailer Inspection in TexasJust had my trailer inspected here in El Paso, TX. There's no need to take it to an RV shop or truck stop, your regular yearly inspection station will do it. Remember that inspections stickers are no longer being issued. Keep your inspection report handy as now that your vehicle (car, truck, trailer...) no longer has an inspection sticker, you will be a target for law enforcement. Already heard of several people stopped due to the no sticker.Re: El Paso, TX CampgroundHello there, I live in El Paso. Although I've never stayed in an RV park here in El Paso, the Mission RV stated above is probably the best looking in the City. Currently there is major freeway construction 24hrs a day really near the intersection of I-10 and Loop 375 where Mission RV is located. You might want to ask them how that is affecting them. If not, I would suggest staying in Las Cruces about 40 miles west of us. When I first started RVing some years ago I used to frequent Roadrunner quite often for parts, but never felt welcome. I stopped giving them my business long ago. Anyway, their lot always seems to have RVs there. El Paso is more of a hotel city with plenty nice/inexpensive hotels to choose from right off the I-10 corridor. If staying in El Paso and like Mexican food, try the local and -real- Mexican eateries we have. We have 100s if not 1000s of real Mexican food restaurants and many are the same as found across the border. EnjoyRe: Albuquerque to Carlsbad Caverns -Best Route for RV with towYou can take highway 60 (south of Belen) to hwy 285. Take 285 to Carlsbad. It's about 295 miles from Belen to Carlsbad. Or as suggested above, hwy 380 south of Socorro to Roswell and to Carlsbad on hwy 285. About 284 miles. At the turn off at I-25 and 380 you will be in San Antonio. There you will find Buckhorn Burgers, they've been on the Food Network for one of the best green chile burgers. Personally, they are ok. Good to try once. In Socorro,NM ( right before San Antonio) there is a diner with the best potato and green chile soup. It's called El Camino. Has a 70's vibe to the diner. Great food. Happy travels. MMRe: Yuma, AZ to Carlsbad, NMHello, I'm from El Paso..never been to Yuma, but the I-10 highway from Phoenix/Tucson to El Paso is relatively flat. There are a few hills now and then. About 90 miles east of El Paso on US62/180 you'll run into the Guadalupe Mountains and probably the steepest grade in your journey. I don't know the grade of the highway there, but it's two lanes driving up. So there's no worries of holding people back. The climb is 2-4miles in length (more or less). Once past that it's a slight downhill to the Caverns (about another 40miles away). Have you visited Kartchner Caverns by Benson,AZ?? I've never been, just passed them on the way to Tombstone. Might be worth a slight detour on the way to Carlsbad. I tow with a PSD 6.0L as well.Re: New Mexico Hwy 82The only "steep" climb on that route is getting from Alamogordo into Cloudcroft, but it is easy with an F-350 or my Expedition (less easy) pulling my 26ft trailer. From Alamogordo it's a two-lane road with several passing lanes. So don't worry about holding up traffic. It's a nice scenic road for the most part. Stop at Cloudcroft and have some great country style cooking at Big Daddy's Diner. Have a slice of homemade pie while your at it.Re: Soldering wires to 1156 base to adapt led panelEmpty 1156 Bulb Sockets Empty 1156 bulb sockets: http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/empty-bases-sockets/ba15s-empty-ba15-base/172/771/Re: Soldering wires to 1156 base to adapt led panelWhen I converted from regular 1156 bulbs to LED panels, I bought empty bulb sockets. No need to ruin good bulbs or risk getting cut. All you need is a soldering gun and some flux to solder the wires on. Just make sure which one of your LED wires is positive and negative so you can solder them into the correct locations. This is what I bought. I believe you can find them at superbrightleds. I didn't put anything in the bulb "void" to hold the wires. Since they won't be moving any once installed, I didn't think there would be a need to add anything else to hold them into place. They have been working great for a few years now with no issues or rubbing. Hope this helps.Re: 12-Volt LED Night LightHello, I too had an issue of it being dark and needing a night light for those midnight nature calls or to get a cookie from the kitchen. This is what I did. I installed a single LED light in certain fixtures around the RV, especially the one in the bathroom. This is the amount of light during midday. It's bright enough that I don't need to turn on the fixture to "conduct business" at night.
