I’ll consider a accumulator but I am not trying to make the pump silent. I was wondering why it was shaking like an out of balance washing machine, running real low and sputtering instead of cycling on and off like it is supposed to. Old-Biscuit, the pump pressure adjuster needed tightened 1/2 turn. As soon as I cracked the screw 1/8 turn, the pump shut off, waited, then turned on, then off waited, then on. That’s what it’s supposed to do. This was with faucet cracked open around 20%. It still shook though so I tightened it further. End result was 1/2 tighter on the pressure screw and it cycles on and off as it needs to with a faucet cracked open, shuts off when faucet is closed, runs smooth the whole time without shaking and works good with faucet fully open. It seems fixed and ready to go. I wouldn’t have changed a factory setting without your advice. Thanks to you both. Really appreciate your time.Shurflo Revolution 4008 severe hammeringSevere water hammering. Installed the water pump last summer and has worked flawlessly. If a water faucet is fully open, the pump works flawlessly. But there’s a problem when a faucet is turned on a small amount such as to wash hands. Instead of the water pump cycling on/off every 3 seconds or so to maintain pressure, it makes a low tone pulsing/click noise repeatedly very fast and sounds like it’s running on a low low voltage, and shakes side to side incredibly far. Very loud knock knock sound. Hard to explain. But, imagine we needed 25% water flow. Instead of pump simply cycling on and off to provide the flow, it seems to try to turn itself constantly on (never cycling)BUT only at 25% of it ability. We have 12.8 volts going to it, it’s screwed to floor the same way it’s always been and same the last pump was. Seems to have started after I drained old water from heater, so I have opened water heater relief, opened hot faucet closest to heater, then tried again, no change. So I re-opened heater relief valve and opened ever faucet and toilet, the closed relief valve at water heater and tried with no noticed difference. So I tried taking air pocket away by leaving water pump switch on and cracking relief valve open at water heater to push air out. No change. We have no accumulator but have never needed one. Shouldn’t just suddenly need an accumulator, to me something else has changed, cannot figure it out. Thanks for any suggestions.Re: ram 2500 5.7 longevityOp, I work for a ram dealer and I think the hemi is one of the best engines being made. There's Four different sizes used in cars and trucks and they're all built nearly identical but have different bore sizes and strokes to make different displacement. Overall extremely reliable. Here are problems I see with them: rear exhaust manifold bolts break causing ticking from engine. The hemi is a noisy engine especially when started cold. They don't knock, just make a lot of noise customers have to get used to. New 6.4L especially guilty of this for some reason, but it's normal. Most serious problem I see about once every two months is camshaft lobes ground down. I have seen it on very, very well maintained vehicles (maintained by us!), and engines that are in trucks that just get used hard, there seems to be no pattern or way to avoid or predict which engines will experience worn cam lobes, just happens. However, my understanding is other manufacturers, such as GM 5.3 and 6.0 have this happen as well. It's expensive. I think people really need to think hard on these new diesels. The emissions components are expensive and somewhat prone to failure. But nothing will pull a trailer easier than a diesel. The trans behind the new 6.4l and the new 6.7l diesel are same design--a 66rfe and a 68rfe. 68 has shafts rated for higher torque. Seriously consider your mood when towing and how patient you are with heavy trailer in headwind or long climb or something and if you can be a little more patient I recommend the 6.4l. If you won't tolerate being slowed down 10mph during those times, I guess the diesel is way to go.Re: Solar Panels Trumpeting A Heads UpI think it is important to focus on the fact this tariff is on solar panels. People don't hoard solar panels. They won't spend all their money to buy em up before the tariff kicks in. Maybe a few companies are out/low on stock because of this right now because a few consumers panicked. I suspect it won't take but a couple months for solar producers in America to catch up. How does the American consumer benefit? Do we not know by now to buy American when given the option? American consumers will benefit from this because they will receive a high quality product, of state of the art technology, at a fair price for it. And less people will be without good jobs in this country. Wait for things in the industry to settle down then buy American made solar products as needed.Re: Truck problem: dificult to shift from Park into ReverseQuick check of shift solenoid is to press brake and see if you hear/feel a click in gear shifter, if so the shift solenoid just released. If not, the solenoid is hanging up. Disconnect the cable at trans while in park and see if hard to move when cold, if so cable is sticky when cold, but warms up and works when hot. Either way I think the cable will need replaced...solenoid is part of cable on most vehicles, so I would plan on a cable.Re: Insurance QuestionAlso the rate varies a lot with higher deductibles. Maybe your $920 is a low deductible like $250. Call around, maybe if it would work for you (as far as you being comfortable with the risk), check on a $2000 deductible.Re: Removing personal info from web? wa8yxm wrote: The best way is to lie.. I'm serious. FOr example I do dozens of Surverys every week, they all ask when I was born.. Well I will only tell you I was NOT born on January 20, 1950.. But that's what I tell them. and I always use the same date. WHY. Well anyone trying to "Borrow" my Identity based on the on-line info.. Can't. I wonder how effective this is? I don't want to lie...but providing an incorrect birthday seems like a very good idea to avoid identity theft. This is the Internet, if somebody wants/needs private information such as birth date, it should be told in person. Or, would that person enter the correct birthdate right into the Internet so it's in cyberspace just the same?Re: "Yup. Free T.V. They Don't Want You To Know"The only tv we have is OTA type, no cable. And with it our Amazon antenna only picks up 8 stations and we have to fiddle with it each time we change stations. Just like 30 years ago. Do you guys think in our situation, maybe this antenna would actually be better for us? Maybe better reception and less fiddling? Or is there one out there you know of that would be better than the one we bought from Amazon? This is on our house none the less...Re: Blue genny guy did the unthinkable! One suggestion I can add that hasn't been mentioned about the harbor freight generator is fuel lines. Watch them as they are very poor quality. They split in 2.5 years. Now, I don't have a Honda so I don't know how long those last nor any other brand. And fuel line is only couple dollars. No big deal, just wanted to mention to the op to watch fuel line for a split right after the barbed fitting where it hooks to carb. Happens fast.Re: Update on transmission leakWeather you drive a Ford, GM, or Chrysler, the engineers at each respective company, and the technicians working at the dealer, have far better understanding of what/how a seal needs to be made. Maybe your old Ford seal (with how many reliable miles?) just wore out. But more than likely, your transmission is creating too much heat while towing. If a leak returns, see the best Ford dealership you can find as they will be the most trained/experienced on what needs done.
