Just looking for some thoughts on narrowing them down to attainable and still getting the most out of our trip. Thanks for the great suggestions! Keep em coming!!! We're likely going in late spring/early summer.Southwest US trip ideasTrying to pull together ideas for a trip from southern Indiana across the southwest and back. Hitting some National Parks, Grand Canyon and reasonable sites in a realistic itinerary for a 2 week trip. I know a 3-4 week trip would be better, but just not an option right now. Second question: We have a family of 4 (wife & 2 teens), a 29' TT and a HD 3/4 ton V8 gasser. Is there any reason to look at borrowing a smaller unit for better towing/MPG? Thought about renting a C-class, but WOW...not for 2-3K for 2 weeks+mileage. I can buy a lot of gas for that price. Any links for itineraries, blogs or thoughts would be appreciated. There's so much info online I'm "locked-up," so details ideas from those that have done it would be great.Re: Here we GO again! Tires/wheels Goldstalker wrote: I would opt for LT load range D or E and forget about the ST's all together. Much better quality even over the Maxxis. Considered but having trouble finding them in 15s and not able to upgrade to 16s right now. Here we GO again! Tires/wheels'03 Cougar 293BH with 15" load range D china blasters. replaced all four over the years and tried in vain to find US built replacements without luck. Ended up with Goodyear Marathons (China) and Shield BCT JK42 (China) The Sheild's were bought in an emergency so they were not my first choice! Now having to replace one blown Shield and one blistered Shield. Considering replacing Shield's with Load Range E Maxxis or similar. Rims are rated to 75 psi so full advantage of LRE won't be had, but I'm pretty sure it would be better. Hoping an expert tire wizard will offer advice on mixing LRE & LRD as well as any advantage to increasing LR. I've read a lot of the past multitude of posts and my head is swimming! Some quick help would be greatly appreciated. New wheels are not an option at this point. Thanks!
