If I am going to an unknown campground I travel full along with some campgrounds that have just plain old nasty water. I also carry a filter and use it where I trust the water just to be sure. I always have some water in the tank. I stayed at a campground one time that had the well go down while we were there. I had plenty of water while others just complained. My owners manual says nothing about traveling with full tanks. My FW tank is below the foot of the main bed and is mounted on top of the flooring. My waste tanks I always empty as soon as practical. I also have never had a bad smell from my water, but I do treat it with a cap full of bleach when I fill it.Re: camper tire pressures Nvr2loud wrote: Same with locking lug nuts, if I wanted your rims I would just smash your window to get the key... then you would be missing all your rims and have a smashed window LOL. Why do it the hard way. Ant tool truck such as Snap On or Mac gas a kit to remove them without the key. Costs %29 and you dont have to worry about someone hearing you break the window or waste time finding it. Now, I have never done this. I do have the kit. I used to run a shop and you wouldnt believe how many people lose the key.Re: Lightweight non-hybrid TT that sleeps 7-8 people? The 1500 would be fine for now. However, as you stated yourself, very young family. Kids do grow very fast. IMHO get the 2500 and grow into it rather than the 1500 and replace it in a year or two with something bigger when the kids all double their weight. As their weight grows, so does the weight of their clothes, toys and especially the food to feed them. LOL Good luck and enjoy the new TT.Re: CO and Propane detector ?Mine started going off during 3rd season. I couldn't figure out why my batteries were dieing so fast between trips. One day I'm walking past as I'm getting the mail and I hear it squealing. Pulled the fuze. Batteries stay charged again.Re: Travel Trailer Purchase - Brand? If you look around and can handle a couple of less feet, you may be able to find one like mine new. I have a Salem Cruise Light 22RBXL that I bought new for $9,900. Its been perfect for me.Re: Towing with half a tank Old-Biscuit wrote: We travel with at least 1/3 tank all the time......great for roadside stops and is enough just in case. I do this as well. Not only for the reason expressed here, but I have also stopped at places where I wouldn't let the dog near the water let alone use it in my TT. I like to make sure I always have good water available.Re: New tires are used already? jwbond52 wrote: I live in Indiana, and have seen these guys driving 70 and 75 mph on I70. a couple months ago I followed one in my car that went almost 80 mph. I live in Ohio near the turnpike and travel to and from Indiana a lot for work. This poster is correct about how these delivery drivers run. I normally drive at 75 on the turnpike and have had these drivers pass me like I was sitting still.Re: TiresRunning radials and bias ply mixed on a vehicle is dangerous. Running them mixed on the same axle is asking for an accident. Put the radials on the same axle for now. Replace the other two as soon as you can.Re: switched to 89 octane for my 2004 dodge RAM 2500To the OP. Tuners for gasoline engines are not as bad as you think. The trick is to have someone who knows how to tune for your specific needs write tuning programs you can load. The tune ups you get from the companies that build the tuners are very generic and do very little. They don't want to be sued when junior takes the car out and breaks something running it too hard. I have a tuner for my car. I'm a certified mechanic and know what I'm doing so I used it to write my own tune ups for my car. I wont go into details, but with nothing but tuning, I was able to take a second and a half off the cars 1/4 mile times at the drag strip without any other mods at all.Re: Longer outside shower hoseI don't want to hijack this thread but it may also help the OP. My low point drains are at the drivers side rear corner. Would it cause an issue to hook up an outdoor shower set up to that? I figured I could always disconnect them from the outdoor shower to use them for their intended purpose when I winterize.
