I still have a few tweaks to make to the wdh, which should only make things better...Re: 2016 Jayco 338 retsGood to know about the tongue weight. I will probably go with the 1400 and Weigh everything loaded. If I'm over I'll upgrade the hitch.Re: 2016 Jayco 338 retsOk, dumb question, but what happens if I get the Hensley arrow or similar hitch rated for 1400 tongue weight, and the actual tongue weight comes in closer to 1600 when loaded up?2016 Jayco 338 retsWell, rather than going with a light fifth wheel it looks like I may be pulling the trigger on a very heavy TT. 2016 jayco 338 rets. Couple questions for you pros: 1. My TV is a 2015 f250 diesel Crew cab short bed. Weighed in at 8350 with full tank and 2 passengers, leaving payload at 1650 (10k gvwr). How will this do? I will be at payload max assuming 15% of 11k trailer gvwr. Still well within rear axle weights and Gcvwr. 2. Dealer was gonna throw in an equalizer e2 wd hitch. They said I didn't need an e4 with my truck. Should I cough up the extra dough and go with an e4 or Hensley anyway? Appreciate your help!Re: Light 5th Wheels justafordguy wrote: MFL wrote: That is a very capable truck. The heavy diesel engine is using up a lot of payload, if you stay under your GVWR. I would not buy a FW, that is too small, just to stay under 10,000 lbs. GVWR. With much of the truck weight up front, I'd be looking at staying under the RAWR, and tire max rating. You don't want a 40' FW, but you can easily handle most midsize FWs IMO. Jerry I agree 100%. I have 2350lbs pin loaded on my F250 and still have 650lbs of RAWR left, tows great. Curious if you get any sagging? Do you use airbags?Re: Light 5th Wheels Paul Clancy wrote: Our crusader 295rst has pin 1278, 8777 dry 2600 ccc 31'11" overall length. Perfect match for the 2500hd diesel. Tows amazingly well. Love the floor plan on this one!Re: Light 5th WheelsGreat info everyone, thanks! A lot of these 5vers I've not looked at, so it gives me something new and interesting to research in the evenings...Re: Light 5th WheelsI will definitely check out the Open Range, thanks. I was wondering about the RAWR. Sticker shows 6100 max. The scales put it at 3420 total with two pax and full tank of diesel....Light 5th WheelsHi all. Been lurking for a couple of years and researching 5vers and TTs. Probably looking to buy sometime this year. This will be my first towing experience and my girlfriend and I will use it primarily for extended weekend type trips. I'm looking for suggestions for light 5vers. My tow vehicle is a 2015 F250 6.7L Diesel. Payload will be a limiting factor since it is SRW. I weighed the truck with a full tank and 2 passengers, came in at 8,350. At GVWR of 10,000, that leaves me about 1650 left for kingpin weight and hitch. The truck came with the fifth wheel prep package. I've been looking at Jayco Eagle HT and Keystone Cougar XLites. Have seen some with hitch weights in the 1200lb dry range, and there are dealers close by which is nice. Any thoughts on these or others that I should consider? Thanks all!Re: Empty Black TankIs the quickie flush the same thing as the "black tank flush" that I see offered on some models of new TTs?
