I've forgotten before and left my porch lite on all night. Felt terrible. If someone had said something to me, i would have fallen all over myself apologizing. Reminds me of a 60 minutes show i saw back in the 80s(?) about a class A going up a western state mountain and dragging something important that was creating sparks like the 4th of July and setting brush on fire all along the way. People were honking and waving like mad at him and he just puttered along without a care in the world. Asked by the interviewer what he thought about all that commotion going on around him, he said something like "i get that all the time and i just ignore them." He was charged with negligently starting a forest fire (or something like that, which i think was ultimately dismissed) and ordered to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars of restitution(which, last i heard, he was still on the hook for).
