There's no big pool but it does have a kiddie pool plus two beaches. Like most popular campgrounds getting a reservation at this late date may be close to impossible. Heading there this weekend, we've been many times. I have a week in August free, was looking to take off and try something new. Some good ideas in here.Re: Best pool or campground waterpark in the Northeast? JoeH wrote: mdcamping wrote: NHDad wrote: Need to put something together for an August trip with the kids. My father lived there for a while. It was a pleasant little college town (Bates). I guess it's changed a bit. Regardless, make sure you have a Sam's while you're there. Maine has a very low crime rate to begin with, so if you are #10 you are doing pretty good.Re: Camp Grounds near N Y CityCan we make the best response thread about NYC a sticky?Re: North Carolina State Parks - Heads Up!They are saying that by lowering in non-peak times to $20 and raising in peak times to $30 they can average out $25 per night of revenue for more nights of the year. They know they'll fill during the popular times at $30 but also can now get some people who normally wouldn't stay for $20.Re: Denver to Yellowstone RAS43 wrote: A lot depends on how much you want to travel in a day. It is about 550+ miles to Yellowstone from Denver by US287. That is about the shortest route. If you go thru Buffalo WY it will add another 125 miles. It would be a long day either way as the roads are not flat or straight. An overnight stop would make it a lot easier. With 2 nights for stops I'd recommend Denver to Cody by way of US20 and Wy120 from Casper. Stop in Shoshoni or Thermopolis the first night and it is an easy run to Cody with time to see the museum, which I'm sure you all will like. Spend the night there and it is a short drive into Yellowstone. Lots of great scenery all along this route from Casper. We are going to leave Yellowstone heading south and spend 3 days in the Grand Tetons so I like the idea of going in via Cody. We'll do 26 to 287 coming out.Denver to YellowstoneMy family is going to fly into Denver, I'll be driving our trailer from NH and meeting them there to start our Yellowstone/Grand Tetons adventure this July. We'll have a day or 2 before we need to be at Fishing Bridge, recommendations on a place to stay north of Denver or maybe someplace between the 2 locations? I'm not tied to staying in CO, just hadn't figured to have time between the 2 locations. Boys are 15, 12, 10.
