I set it to keep the temp in the trailer at ~ 50 deg F and kept a check on it every couple of weeks. My electric bill was about 15 buck more per month but was worth it to me. The following spring I had a camper that was completely free of mold and mildew, required nothing other than filling the water tank, purging the lines and water heater of the air and loading up for the first trip of the year. The heater I use has a wide base to sit on, a tip/trip sensor to shut it down if it ever tipped over. I keep it on the kitchen counter about 10" off the wall. No issues here...Re: GeneratorI have 2 Ryobi 2200W peak (1800W cont) generators with a parallel kit that can run a TT on the 30 amp circuit. The ratings are for each, so thats ~ 4400W and 3600W when in parallel. The noise levels are only a few dBs higher than the Honda. I am please with them so far. Both start easily and both have the eco mode. Both are fairly light weight and makes it easy to use if only a small amount of power is needed for a job. I can just take one along leaving the other one behind. Purchased at Home Depot for $1250.00 for both gens and parallel kit. Much, much cheaper than a Honda 2000EU and companion gen with parallel kit.Re: Things to NOT Leave in Your Trailer for Winter Storage.I keep mine on shore power with a small space heater (thermostat driven) going all winter. Keeps the TT at a modest 55-60 degrees as well as stable humidity levels. I am usually in and out of it a few times a week to make sure all is in check. I only take out foods that spoil or expire or do not have a heavily sealed container. Bedding and bath towels are cleaned and replaced. TVs, Sat receiver & other electronics stay in. I keep a small supply of bottled water and a couple of soft drinks in the frig (running on shore power) for my visits to the TT. During warmer, sunny days I try to open up the awning for a few hours to keep it from molding and to dry it out. I keep a little bit of non-damaging lubricant on the toilet seal to cut out any odors. (even though the black tank was emptied and washed out)Re: loud generators bcsslc wrote: We try to boondock when we get out but some of the places we like to go boondockin is limited. As a result we will stay in a campground . They don't offer any type of hookups only a table and a fire ring. I find that the most obnoxious , rude and offensive part of the campgrounds are loud generators. Here is a tip for those that are not sure if you own a loud generate..... when you turn you generator off and people in other parts of the campground start applauding and yell out "thank you". You have a pos generator....... If while you are standing within 20 'of your generator and you are trying to have a conversation with your son but to everyone one else it looks like you are yelling at him and your throat hurts.... you have a pos generator. ... here is the best way you can tell. If your generator is a different color then Red or Blue or doesn't say Honda or Yamaha.... you own a pos generator. If you are camping near me your pos generator will have a catastrophic failure. ..... If I catch someone causing a "catastrophic failure" to either of my generators, you will limp away from the area with a broken leg, or possibly a bullet hole in your calf or thigh. If you don't have the balls to knock on the door and kindly ask me about the problem, then you fully deserve the above. Oh, and my two Ryobi generators are only 3-4 db noisier than the "red" ones.Re: Small trailer with ovenMy 2013 Palomino Puma 19RL came with an oven. Have not used it yet, but I am sure it will come in handy for some things.Re: Puzzled by lack of decent RV parks in N.C.Check online for campgrounds in Moncure (Cotten's Campground) and Corinth (Dickens RV Park). Both are ~ 30 minutes south of Raleigh just off US1. They are also within 20 minutes from the start point to the "American Tobacco Trail" which is a walking/bicycling trail. that winds its way thru Wake and Durham Counties.Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Just brought this home a couple of weeks ago...
