Bad or good. Inspect your purchase, cross your fingers, and.move forward.Re: Class A or C, That is the questionWe have had both...2 class C and now an A. In my opinion, the A is by far more comfortable. Here are some of the pros we see. (Others may have differing opinions) We had issues with the view driving in a C. The cabover just seems to block vision. In the A we have better peripheral vision. The bounce of the cabover section of the C was noisy and it seemed to fight the wind while driving. It also led to leak issues we feel. In our opinion ducking to get in and out of the cab area under the overhang was not comfortable and led to many bumped heads. While having two doors to get in and out of was at times convenient, we didn't like that the seats didn't swivel to give us usable seats when parked like the ones do in our A. When we went to an A, we got usable length. In the Class C, part of the length was the hood and engine compartment...which is totally not usable space. So when we went up just a few feet in length, we got way more than that in actual new usable space. And the turning radius is much easier to manage in the A because of the different placement of the wheels in relation to the length. We like the larger storage tanks for water and waste, more outside storage (although that really does depend on model), and roomier bedroom/bathroom options. We took our boys across the country in our first C, and have since camped with them in the A. Really feel we would have been much more comfortable in the A for that long summer trip. Finances were not in place to do that at the time...but if we could have it would have been much nicer. Good luck with your decision. Whatever you do you will be creating family memories.Re: Thor ACE or Forrest River FR3... Effy wrote: Had that issue also, in later models they moved the genset to the rear but that took up some of the rear large passthrough. I can tell you I remedied the problem by installing a vented bin door for the genset. Thor actually approved and paid for it. Haven't had the issue since and I have driven in 90+ temps, knock on wood. Thanks! I may call Thor and see what we can do about fixing that little annoyance. And the large rear passthrough storage was one of the key selling points for us so I am glad that the generator isn't taking part of that away.Re: Thor ACE or Forrest River FR3...I also own an ACE 29.1 and have been very happy. Unfortunately, I have not looked at the Forest River model. I have looked at other FRs in the past and did not like the quality of finishes. I will say that the generator overheats when using it on a hot travel day to try to use the roof air on the road. That is the only issue we have had with it, and really only on days in the 90s and higher.Re: Towing ford c maxWe also use the Blue Ox systems, and have a charge line installed. We don't use a braking system.Re: Towing ford c maxWe tow a CMax hybrid. What do you want to know?Re: Any KOA work kampers?workatkoa is the link for the workamper site. We have worked three summers for KOA. We would go back to another KOA given the right situation. Every one is different. Some deals are great, some are not right for us. If you communicate clearly up front, and have realistic expectations it can work for you and for the campground. Don't be afraid to ask questions and ask if the deal is a flexible one. We have been happy in every situation, but we have also learned along the way what we want, and what we don't. If the campground isn't willing/able to give us what we need, we look elsewhere. But once we commit, we stay the course. We have watched others leave early and leave the campground in a bind, causing us to have to work more than we agreed upon.Re: from a C to an AYou will notice a space difference even if you don't go much longer in length just because you don't have all the wasted engine room in the front. We moved from a 25 foot class c to a 30 foot class a and it is like we doubled in size! We have a Thor ACE and love it. Some pros for us were no more setting up taking down beds/tables as we now have a dedicated bed. And we don't have to climb a ladder to get into it. Much more convenient and accessible storage. Better layout for us. I would say do a lot of comparison shopping. Really compare floor plans, storage space, capacity of tanks, etc. If something seems to really fit you, you will know. Have fun!Re: looking to buy entry level MotorhomeWe have a Thor ACE if you have any questions feel free to PM me.Re: Ford Focus and Fiesta as Toad and in general - feedbackWe towed a Focus for years...it was awesome. Easy to pull, easy to drive. Now we have another Ford, a CMax Hybrid. It is also easy to tow. Had to get a charge line installed so the battery wouldn't drain as we tow, but once we did that it is great. A little heavier than the Focus but not substantially different to tow.
