Just completed a Texas to California trip over two weeks ... The rest stops and "truck stops" were all packed by truckers on I-40 and I-10. Very little room to pull an RV into for a quick nap. Moisheh - when you are working; feel free to put money into a hotel room as we had to put money into a camp site - hotels need to make a living too and your sleeping in your truck takes away from them.424Views0likes0Comments- 359Views0likes0Comments

My wife and I have begun using gas gift cards from Chevron, etc. One, you receive a discount at the pump and second - its an information protection issue ... we've had our credit cards "hacked" several times while driving across the country ... with the gift cards, no such issue and never have to go back inside to the cashier to call in for permission or restart the pumps.356Views0likes0CommentsRe: Opinions on our stops
We have a 17 year old and 7 year old (please, don't do the math). Our daughter has been in 30 states already. Of course when we took our trip through the mid west her response to her friends was "well, we saw a lot of red rocks". When we got married we made a pact - our children would see as many of the states as possible before we took them overseas ... always bothered me when people say how great other countries are without seeing the US.
