Before the gasoline issue, you could buy two equivalent generators for one Honda. How much of a premium are you willing to pay? Three times? He wants a Honda. And you are wrong. You can't buy two "equivalent" for the price of a Honda. You can buy two for the price, but they are not "equivalent".Re: Best gadget buy in a long long long time garyhaupt wrote: OP here..and I too have a chainsaw..a Makita electric for the yard, that is seldom used. This wee B&D sawzall was bought used for $50 off Amazon.ca and even tho I am using a non-wood blade, it does the job asked of it, just fine. I don't need to spend the 15 bux just to have a rip blade. As for having a chainsaw while out in the rv? I think people that do that have a wish for self-harm. There are few tools more dangerous than a chainsaw.I invite your perusal. https://www.hindawi.com/journals/aem/2015/459697/ Does that mean you're afraid of one? Or don't know how to use one? :h I carry a cordless chain saw for fire wood cutting. I have no desire to harm myself... :B Gary Re: Homeless people coming to your favorite campground! #1Flyboy wrote: .... Currently at New Melones Resevoir ( Tuolumne County, CA ) and about 1/2 of the weekday campers are either at the lower end of the economic scale or not even on it. Ancient RV, no tent but living out of vehicle, pit bulls, unkempt & disheveled appearance, noise complaints, etc.... So far this has yet to affect us, but, it may in the future... Welcome to California. :RRe: utah activities for seniors RRTom wrote: Deb and Ed M wrote: Yes - you can see plenty from easy walks; and most Nat'l Parks will give you a length in miles if the walk is longer than a few hundred feet. Ed and I invariably have our dogs along, so aren't gone from our vehicle for very long (and that's fine because I have plenty of arthritis to remind me I'm not a "hiker" any more). If you want to be off the beaten path - there are lots of places that will rent a Jeep Wrangler for offroad tours (there was even a 4X4 road through Arches Nat'l Park) but be prepared to be bounced around a lot. Thanks. Would a GMC crew cab 4WD pickup be suitable for those areas? Hell yes! You are good to go!Re: Trouble with California mountainkowboy wrote: Yosemite Sam1 wrote: mountainkowboy wrote: I go between Or and CA all the time and go through the "AG" stops all the time. I have been asked a few times if they can "inspect" the inside of my TC for whatever, I just laugh at them and say no. They have no authority for such...in fact 90% of the time the Leo's don't have the authority, but people are intimidated by the request and submit to it, why I have no idea. Know your rights and demand respect from ANYONE, or be a sheep and get trampled on. I'm sorry if I found this incredulous. I don't think you'll even be asked, and you'll just be waived at the border if you have a Oregon license plate. That's within flying distance of any insect and don't need you car to be transported. These nearby states, up to WA have joint-coordinated pest control protocols. Really? you've ridden with my wife and I driving in and out of CA over the last 10 years? I love the drivel of some people who choose there own "truths" over others facts. You can choose your "alternate" reality if you wish, but quit making statements about things that you don't have first hand knowledge of. Kinda sounds like a House impeachment inquiry.... :RRe: utah activities for seniorsDo you have a four wheel drive vehicle? Hundreds of miles of trails and roads. Research it. Lots of info out there.Re: Champion generator BendOrLarry wrote: I have used a Champion 3100 invertor generator for the last 3 years, had a Honda and it died. I would not go back to Honda. The Champion is a great generator, runs our AC at 6000 ft elevation and has never missed a beat. I see no reason to spend more than twice the money for a Honda or Yamaha. If you like status, or wasting money then buy a Honda or Yamaha. Don't care about status and don't waste money. I bought the best brand generators out there, it fits all my needs, and it ain't no Champion.Re: Trouble with California Yosemite Sam1 wrote: Airdaile wrote: et2 wrote: I'm not even from California but understand why it's the national and global trend-setter, technological and environmental benchmark. Lwiddis and MDKMDK- you guys are really a lot of help for someone looking for information.Re: Cuts to the Senior discount coming? DutchmenSport wrote: Um... I take a different view on this. The fact is, more and more RV's have been sold in the last few years than ever before. All time new highs in RV markets have reached an unbelievable peak. There are definitely more RVers than campsites available. For the National Parks and such, this is a money maker. But as the baby boomers are now "booming" into retirement, own more RV's than probably any other "group", perhaps this is 'their' way to keep the revenue coming in. Say 100 sites go for $25 a night. That $2500 a night. Now, if 100 "seniors" use those same sites at the discount price, say... $15 a night, that's now only $1500 for the same space, the same time, the same number of sites. I may be wrong, but I don't think National Parks are in the "for profit" business.
