That was a shock when we'd be boondocking and realize the lights were dimming due to dead batteries. We'd both look puzzeled only to find out that one of the dogs had bumped the switch and turned off the panels. A piece of duct tape solved it, but I like how much more profession your mod looks. I might have to copy itRe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012I like the pegboard idea in the front compartment, I might need to borrow that oneRe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 Sorry to hear about the cracked axles - wow, that must have been a real pain to full timers like you guys. As the DW and I move closer to being full timers, stories like that cause us to really wonder if its the right move. I don't know if we will ever become compleatly full time but we have been on the road for 7 weeks on this run and will be heading home in the morning. 4000 miles so far and 2000 more to home. Plan to be home on the 20th or so. Got to go back and work a little while. All the best my friend! Larry Hey Larry, it wasnt nearly as bad as we thought it was going to be, especially when we found out Insurance wouldnt cover it. We had them beefed up and repaired and were back on the road within a week. Luckily when we found it, we were home in Michigan and had sent the camper in to have new brakes put on, which is why they found the cracks because the drums were removed. This meant we had a place to stay while they kept the camper for the week to do the repairs. Dont let something like that scare you, most dealerships will let you stay in your camper if something like this would come up while you're on the roadRe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 larry_kruzan wrote: everymilesamemory wrote: Our most recent addition was a Wind Turbine to help keep the batteries charged Hey Pat! With all the cool mods you have on your rig, you are going to be overweight soon. ;) Then where are you going to put your tennis shoes????? :B :B All the best, Larry Larry, we were overweight the day we left Michigan 4 years ago...LOL As for the camper, we have the tires over rated from their original, and the axles re-inforced too. That's because we cracked them once already:ERe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Our most recent addition was a Wind Turbine to help keep the batteries charged You can read more about it HERERe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012We just added a Air Actuated Turbine Lift to the Travel Trailer to help suppliment the solar array we already have installed Works pretty smooth and really helps keep the batteries topped off on those days the sun doesnt want to come out or during the night timeRe: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
