How many of us out there?Wow! 85 Pages. What is the current opinion of rental sellers? Is one better than the rest? CA sends me a list every month and the prices are always better than what I find other places. The high miles do concern me, but CA provides a 12 month/12,000 miles powertrain warranty. Any good? I'm focused on the 23U since it's just me and a pooch after my wife died. I like to go out for 2 to 3 weeks at a time but wondering if others have had one and wished they had bought bigger. Thanks!Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. Is there room in the CA 23A to add in an inverter and additional batteries / solar? Any space you want to give up is space for batteries and inverter. In an exterior storage compartment, under a sink, in or under a cabinet, etc. Just remember you'd like to be close to the generator or mains panel to tie in. Is one battery enough or do you need four? It's all a tradeoff Thank you. Since I need to be able to work, I think the inverter is going to be something I must put in. Need to keep thinking.... Did a bit more poking around and found several posts that mounting inside the cabin is not a good idea due to outgassing. Several mentioned that it has been done successfully when vented properly, but unless one is an expert it's not recommended.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?I've always felt the Ford chassis was very spongy, but never noticed a sag problem. We had several years of 350 vans for ENG trucks and they were all sloppy and annoying to drive.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Maybe check and see if the cover is insulated and the insulation hasn't fallen off, deteriorated, or been removed?Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?A local RV dealer is selling their 2016 rentals: Thor Motor Coach Vegas Series M-25.1 on the Ford F-53 Super Duty chassis. They have about 50,000 miles and priced at $68,000. Any opinions on that coach as far as price and drivability? The damage in the bedroom is not fixed as the parts have not arrived, however when I saw the damage I was surprised how minor it was. Also the electric operated shade on the sky light needs repaired and will be when the parts are in for that. In the mean time it will be at my house and we will be getting it set up and hopefully a weekend out to check all systems. The dealer is working hard to get it right. So at this point we are happy with it. I will expect the remainder of the repairs to be done by April 1. Jeez! Hope you never need and engine or tranny.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. My A/C went out and I took it a repair shop,he called the warranty company, while I was there and they said it was covered,he faxed the repair order. They faxed back the approval. When it was done the shop faxed the final bill, they denied the claim. We asked why, when it had been approved,he had the fax approving it. They quoted a clause and faxed it to us. Buried in the fine print,it said the work had to be completed and billed within 5 days of the repair order being received and approved. It took 5 days to get the parts and another to install it,the bill was sent 7 days after the approval. CLAIM DENIED. I will never buy a warranty again. Thanks! What company did you buy from? Sounds like the first one to make the **** list. I would like a warranty but if the used RV places are selling worthless paper we need to know who the scummy companies are.
