I thought that may be the case but I did not think the aluminum would hold up to stress. I am just going to buy a cheap pair of chain brackets and modify them. Thanks for the help.Weight distributing hitch chain bracket issueI just bought a new aluminum car hauler and I want to use an old Reese weight distributing hitch that was my dads. The problem is that the trailer has a piece of metal formed in a u shape and welded to the trailer frame to mount chain brackets. The piece welded to frame has a keyhole opening and there is a crossmember on the inside of trailer tongue right behind where brackets need to go. Does anyone know what brand brackets might work with this? Thanks RobRe: Comments on a Chevy 1996 gas 3500 4x4 Dually?I have a 99 Crew cab dually 7.4 ,bought it new. it has 75,000 miles. We put 7000 miles on it since june 2015. The only failure to date is an idler pulley. I have done some engine work, advanced the cam to lower peak torque, new injectors and custom tune. I have a 24' boat and a Northstar 8.5 Truck Camper that it tows just fine. 7-9 mpg is the norm with a load .Re: Ohio Valley Truck Camper Get together ----- June 14, 15 2013We had a great time! The wife really enjoyed the weekend. THX Mr Fox & FamilyRe: Public Opinion needed on AC UnitWe have a polar Cub 9200 In our Northstar Adventurer it works great and will run on a Honda 2000 generator. Two years ago we were invited to a wedding in Charlston SC . The wife did not think we needed ac . I said no way i am going to SC in July without AC. She later said she was glad i took the time to install the Polar Cub. I also purchased the heat strip it is worthless. I use a small ceramic "Cube Heater" if camping where there is shore power. I ought the part that you are missing at ppl out of texas and the ac unit at camping world.Re: Finally Getting Started: New Garage With RV BayI spent most of my summer last year building a 22' wide x 32' long with 14' high ceilings and a 12' x 12' door. It is drywalled and insulated. I ran one 6" heat duct from the main shop with no cold air return and the coldest temp last year was 38° F. This summer I hope to camp a little more now that I dont have to stay close to home.Front Air Bags for levelingI have a 99 chev K3500 and I have Firstone Air Bags on the rear with an onboard air comp, I use the air bags to level the truck if it is slightly out of level. I was thinking an air assist setup on the front would be nice for leveling. I know Firestone make airshocks but they are not made for my truck.
