It's not rocket science, watch a couple of YouTube video's and try it yourself. If you screw up, just do it again. I replace my dated flooring with vinyl planking and it looks great. I would go with the Ford Puck system. I had a 99PSD with the Turn over Ball, which was a great hitch but heavy to install. Last Sept I bought a New 2019 F350 with the puck system already installed so I had to buy the new B&W hitch which is a lot lighter. Not only is it the same great quality but now has 4 points that it secures to the truck. I live in Eureka and pull my 34 ft Big Country over 299 all the time, it is no big deal. I have been over a lot worse. Just outside of Redding the worse part of the road in now the best part, figure about 3.5 hours if you go now stop. What are you coming to the North Coast for? If you plan on going anywhere west, with a 5er of that weight, Diesel is the only way to go. Some of the passes that you will go over are pretty high and you will want the turbo in order to maintain any power. Just put my second set of Firestone Transforce LT 235/85 16 HT on my Big Country,10250 lbs empty. First set I had for 4 yrs and put 14k on them, and still looked great. Sold them to my brother for one of his work trucks. I have a 99.5 PSD with 6speed and use the superchip flashpaq, I had been using the older superchip, but wanted the option of changing tire size. That said, I love it. I pull a 12k Big Country and yes I use the Performance setting, my EGTs run cooler (I keep it below 1100 climbing hills like Vail Pass on I70). I get between 9.5 and 12 pulling and 18.3 without at 80 mph not using CALIF. diesel, and 19.5 while crusing through Yellowstone this summer I do have gauges and 4in turbo back exhaust, with a US Gear Exhaust brake. I just deleted the intake manifold heated and am going to delete the exhaust backpressure valve and add a billet aluminum wheel to the turbo.210Views0likes0Comments
