(I have a Garmin Montana 600) It works great.Re: So, how long can house batteries last? The battery that came in my 5er lasted a few months over 14 years. I never had a battery last that long in anything before. I have to buy a new one this spring.Re: deep cycle battery... trickle or not to???My battery is 14 years old and still going. I let the converter keep it charged up all summer, and remove and trickle charge during the winter. I have never had a battery last this long.Re: New Canadian currency melts? Most of your dash is made of plastic. Does it melt?Re: Hot Water HeaterMy heater is only propane. I light it when I arrive at a campsite and turn it off when I leave. The propane it uses is minimal as my propane tankful will last over two years.Re: 5th wheel hitch and truck side rail heightI had to have my local machine shop raise the trailer 6 inches. That did the job, trailer is level, 5 1/2 to 6 inches clearance. Cost me $900 and they did a real nice job with 6 inch braces between the box frame pieces they put in. I wish I could weld like that guy!Re: coiled breakaway cable for 5th wheelI just put an eyebolt in a hole in the hitch and have a snap hook on the cable. Easy to hook up and unhook.Re: Raising trailerI had to do the same when I traded trucks, except I had to raise it 6 inches. I had a machine shop put a subframe somewhat longer than the outside ends of the spring hangers, with a brace in between the two front and rear. Solved the problem. I also have another 5th utility trailer. I bought the materials and did this job myself. No problem.Re: Canadian Maritimes where to go?Fundy Park on the Bay of Fundy is a great place for kids...many hiking trails to use up excess energy. Chignecto North campsite in the Park is quiet sites and some playgrounds.Re: New TV Old FW bed rail clearance solutionsI had the same problem when I got my Silverado 2500. I had the local machine shop put 6 inch rectangular steel tubing between the frame of the trailer and the spring hangers. Solved the problem & cost $900. I also have a utility trailer, 5th wheel, and I purchased the tubing and did the job on it myself.
