All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: RV Queen mattressAnother vote for the Zinus from Amazon, on our 2nd RV with the same one we first purchased over 2 years ago, plus we bought a thicker (8”) for our Master at home soon afterward! I am 72 and love them both, being the Deluxe models with premium covers, so no exposed foam.Another Dometic AC QuestionMy 2020 Dometic BriskAir II 15k unit will sometimes only run the fan without the compressor coming on, though it seems only during the night, with the fan set to Auto. I’ve confirmed the thermostat is accurate and usually set to 74 degrees, and will operate normally when it calls for cooling, but will come on with fan only for a few minutes in early morning while connected to shore power or generator. Last night it happened at least 3 times with the outside temp also being in the 70’s. Is anyone else noticing this happening too and considered “normal”? BTW, this is our 2nd unit after the original (2019) lost all refrigerant and the new unit came with the fan blades being very out-of-balance, causing a lot of vibration in the TT for about 6 months before replacements finally arrived! The new unit was so loud it would wake my wife & I every time it came on and I couldn’t tell if the compressor was engaging when it came on, at least not until I felt cooling. I have installed a Dometic-approved soft-start capacitor to allow us to use a 3800w Inverter Generator when boondocking and sure that has nothing to do with this “issue” in question.Re: Backup/rear view Camera ReccomendationsI’ve recently purchased and installed the Leekooluu wireless LK7 camera with 7” monitor for our 32’ long TT and, after a 450 mile trip at 60mph with it always on, I was very impressed with the image quality without any signal loss, but I never had a chance to use it at night. Our TT was already wired for the Furion camera, but our budget wasn’t going to allow that purchase. At this time, I feel comfortable recommending it and it is capable of displaying 2 camera images at the same time. https://www.amazon.com/LeeKooLuu-High-Speed-Observation-Motorhomes-Waterproof/dp/B075T2QVHPRe: New and looking for a generatorI don’t see that anyone has mentioned WEN brand inverter generators, so I’ll throw that suggestion out there to consider. I did a lot of research for over a year before buying my 3800 watt WEN unit for our 32’ TT and couldn’t be happier. Granted the unit does weight 98lbs, but it’s very well built, super quiet, has more than enough power for our needs (with 15K AC for our pup in the Summer) and we caught it ON SALE for well under the Champion 3400 watt I had originally considered! Even when not on sale, it is priced below most and ships free when purchased directly from WEN. I had also considered buying (2) of the WEN 2300 watt units with parallel cables, allowing me to use a single unit in Spring & Fall or both during the Summer months, but ultimately decided to just go with the single 3800 watt for less maintenance. Plus, the 3800 unit already has the 30A outlet built-in, so no adapters needed like on the Predator and some other brands!Re: Need recommendations for a new Short Queen size mattressWe are in our 2nd year and 2nd TT with a 8” thick Zinus short Queen foam mattress, we told the dealer to keep the new mattress in the new TT and haven’t regretted it for 1 minute! We love it so much we got the 12” Zinus for our home Queen, all on Amazon “in a box”.Re: Outside Kitchen Travel TrailersOur Heartland North Trail 27RBDS has a complete outside kitchen and is a rear bath model with opposing slides in the kitchen/living area. 6450# dry at 32’ total length.Re: F150 and Reflection 150 series? As far as tire pressure in the TV, I run 45# cold in all 4 to allow for the added load. We’ve decided to bite-the-bullet and have ordered the Hensley Hitch in hopes it will do what we need to be comfortable towing our 32’ TT, since it does come with a 60 day money back guarantee. Thanks again to all!Re: F150 and Reflection 150 series? Thanks for the added info, I’ve already spoken to Terry at Hensley and making a decision tonight, but it does sound very promising in solving our issue with sway.Re: F150 and Reflection 150 series?BarneyS, I’m going to take your advice and look deeper into the Hensley/ProPride option, after spending the last 3 hours looking at Reviews and YouTubes of people who have gone to that hitch for exactly the same reason we were considering moving to a 5er, since we truly enjoy the TT we own. Thanks to all you 5er owners who stepped up to help a TT owner work towards the right solution when I cold have posted this in the TT Forum instead!!Re: F150 and Reflection 150 series? Thanks for all the great info & suggestions! As far as weight check: not yet, just never the right time while traveling and no scales near home. However, I based the 750# tongue weight figure based on dry specs plus a very heavy foam mattress and a fully packed front storage, as well as carrying 15 gallons of fresh. Of our (4) 40 gallon tanks, only the fresh is totally in front of the axles and why we always dump the others before leaving campsites. We do have a tote as well. Regarding the Hensley, it would be such a huge risk because of the cost to our budget, only to find it didn’t correct the issue with no recourse. If there was a guarantee it would solve it, then less risk. BTW, the GVRW of our TT is 7400# and we can’t be close to that. Yes, we would really like a 5er, but we also really love this TT’s layout and size, plus we got a really good deal on it.
