We will be leaving the Orlando area the last week of March to arrive mid April. Our employment will be over Sept 30 when we will head south.Re: G-Rated Tire RecommendationsWe purchased a used Carriage Carrilite a few years ago. The RV dealer had replaced the original tires (Goodyears) with new Jin Lin's made in China. After 3,500 miles the sidewall on one of them blew open going down I 90. I pulled into the Goodyear dealer in Billings, MT and replaced the rest of them. Yes it was almost $1,400 but 5 years and almost 50,000 miles later I have not had the first tire issue.Landmark vs RedwoodWe have a 2004 Carriage Carrilite and are looking at trading up to a 2013 - 2013 model year. My wife and I have found 2 Landmark floor plans as well as 2 Redwood floor plans that we like. Any feedback from owners of either would be appreciated. ThanksRe: Best years for used Duramax? We have a 2006 3500 4WD CC DRW LT Chevy with the LBZ Alison 6 spd combo. It had 90K on it when purchased in 2010. The current mileage is 207,000. We are fulltimers and spend May to Oct. in West Yellowstone, MT. from there we visit family in Superior,WI and then on to Florida for the winter. We will be making this trip for the 6th time in late April towing our 37' 17,000lb 5th wheel. It averages 11 MPG towing and 17MPG empty. The injectors were replaced at 201,000 miles. Other that that it has been a very reliable and capable vehicle. By the way I sold both Chevy and GMC trucks for 15 years and this is the model I sought out for my own personal use.Re: Washer/dryerWe have been full timing for 5 years. Our pre owned 5th wheel did not have a W/D and my wife wasn't sure she wanted one. I talked her into a Whirlpool W/D that is stackable. After the first few months on the road she wouldn't give them up for anything. Friends have reported finding all sorts of items in campground laundries, grease from shop rags, all types of pet hair and leftovers from diapers! No thanks, not me, I know what goes into our W/D.Carriage Supplier InformationWe have a 2004 Carriage Carri Lite. Shortly after Carriage went out of business I saw a list of the Carriage suppliers on a website. Does anyone happen to have this information?Re: Chevy 3500 shock replacementThanks for the feedback. It looks like Bilstein's is the way to go. Amazon.com seems to have the best price. Any other suggestions?Chevy 3500 shock replacementWe full time with a 2006 Chevy 3500 Duramax that tows a 37" 17,000# 5th wheel. Does anyone have any recommendations/experience with replacing their shocks?Re: Problems with South Dakota Health Insurance for Full Timer'sAppreciate everyone's interest in obtaining Health Insurance in SD. Here is the response I received today from my agent regarding my insurance company (Avera)'s policy regarding Full Time RVers in SD. See below: Hi Everyone, again I want to thank you all for your business, your patience and allowing me to keep you informed via group email, I would appreciate a reply email to this email so I know this info has been received. latest info from Avera management as of 11/18/2014 If you have an Avera policy that was purchased on the Marketplace, you will be able to keep this coverage in 2015, however , claims will not be covered, at in network benefits unless the services are for urgent or emergent services. So things like Preventative Medicine, durable medical equipment & maintenance chiropractic treatments will not be covered as in network benefits, again their words are only network benefits for urgent or emergency services. Your polices will have their full benefits if used at in network providers in SD." To put it bluntly, if you want to see your doctor in another state for your annual physical and routine stuff, you just have to pay him/her out of pocket and not file a claim - that's what I will be doing. If you have a heart attack while staying in a state other than SD, you will be covered because that would be considered Urgent/Emergency care. There is a nationwide network that you can use. I suggest you just check out the network to make sure you can find a doctor/hospital in the area you will be staying that is part of the network. Your insurance company will be able to give you the website. I found many in Florida and my doctor in NC is also in the network should I elect to have a heart attack while visiting NC..... Most hospitals and emergency facilities are in the network. I am looking forward to turning 65 in 2.5 years and then I won't have to worry about these things!!!! Thanks EllenRe: Problems with South Dakota Health Insurance for Full Timer'sThanks for the feedback. I turned 62 this year so Medicare is a few years away. My SD agent called last week to inform me that I would be getting a cancellation notice from Avera by the 15th of Nov. Mail is late this week with holiday, should get it tomorrow.
