I think I will investigate changing them all out to Rieco Let's Christen the new Forum w/ a Happijac versus Rieco Titan discussion! Hello group, a lot has changed since my last post, along with the march of time... I have the two forward happijac (old #600510) original motors failed for a couple years now and have been limping along waiting for the old-style replacement motor to come in stock. This waiting has me thinking a lot about just switching the whole mess out for a Rieco Titan system. Anyone who might have done this swap, I would be very grateful for input. I've searched the group and theres a whole lot of negative discussion around happijac, but haven't seen much in the way of a HJ/RT comparison. As always, ever grateful. SolvedRe: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here Re: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here 1979 Lance 400 12v ElectricalRecently, I became the new owner of an excellent condition 1979 Lance 400 that spent most of its life in a heated outbuilding. This addition to my driveway is among the most beautiful, but is the most mysterious yet, since no real schematics of any of the systems exist anymore. I am posting to reach out to anyone with experience from the time that coach battery systems were an afterthought, and usually if equipped, were installed by the dealer. My 1979 Lance 400 has the special Lance-only 7 round pin connector pigtail for 12 volt connection, and no battery compartment anywhere in the coach. Curtis Trailers here in Portland had the pigtail adapter (hard to find) so I have the coach plugged into the truck, which provides 12v to the coach using the truck battery(s). I would very much like to know if and what anyone used for a coach 12 volt battery source (aside from a battery box on the bumper) if they were around or have experience from this era of truck camper technology. Thank you in advance!Re: Ran roof air all day on only solar, batteries still full It's been a long journey, but I'm finally there. So--the back-story, I have a 2-slide Eagle Cap 1160, when I got it 6mos used, the previous owner ordered it stripped - no AC, gen, not even tvs. I put a 13,5kbtu AC in because my previous Arctic Fox had a 11k and I had days where it didn't cut the mustard. I put in (6) 145ah AGM batteries and a Magnum Technologies 3KW Hybrid Inverter, and a Honda 2000. First attempts to run the roof air on the Honda were hit n miss, mostly miss, even using the hybrid function of the inverter. Then I put 600w of solar on my trailer(The Shotwagon) with (6) of it's own 145ah batteries and ran 4ga to the hitch an Anderson disconnects to the TC. That worked 'ok'. But at the end of a hot day, I killed about a half of my battery capacity, voltage would be down to 12.1-ish from 13.7 float. Then I put 800w solar on my TC and tied the two systems via the same 4ga Anderson connectors and just last week installed a Micro-Air soft start. Yesterday we had a record hot day for May, I hit 87 here. Ran the roof air all day, I ended the day with the batteries still @100% charge. The solar was putting in roughly 80amps charge even though the roof air drew 110amps@12v from the inverter. In between roof air cycles, the solar of course kept charging and kept the batts at 100% I ended up with both solar controllers in Float mode, 13.7v. Congratulations on reaching the tipping point. That much power makes peace of mind for long term boondocking needs.Re: 19.5 tire wearHankook AH11s have about 25K and have been solid handling. Wear level is medium, have rotated twice. Re: Atwood Electric Jack Locked Up in Retracted PositionThanks for the reply and encouragement. I probably should have been more clear. The motor is fine, in fact I was impressed with its condition with a May 97 date stamp. I'm thinking the shaft itself is broke or the connection at the bottom broke and bound up the jack threads. I ordered a replacement so we can mark this solved since I could not see a way to get the jack to move.Atwood Electric Jack Locked Up in Retracted PositionFor some reason, my driverside-front jack is locked up in the retracted position. Took the motor off, the shaft and bevel gear will not turn. Worked fine when I last loaded. Drove home parked, went out to unload, and jack shaft will not rotate. Is there some trick I am missing, or do I need to start looking for a jack?
