All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Windshield Replacement RecommendationsI used a joint in Lake Havasu...they cut the vinyl on my dashboard removing the old glass. Never mentioned it and I found the damage a week later. Fully inspect before & after!Re: Winter Storage - Cover at Home or Store at Indoor Facillity?I've had my Ellipse 42 outside in Alberta all 10 years I've owned it. Don't put a cover...will ruin the clear coat. I wax & inspect/repair the roof sealants once a year. The motor home looks brand new.Re: What Tire Monitoring System to get?Just check pressures from time to time...replace tires after 5 years. TPM is pretty worthless and just another distraction. jmo after 9 years.Re: To Brake assist or not to brake assist ?If you can feel the toad helping slow the motor home then you are ruining your brakes.Re: Covered versus Outside Storage CostI full time...motor home is exposed to the elements all the time. I take care of my coach so the elements are no biggi. Fiberglass roof should last indefinitely just like boat hulls.Re: rusting out cargo binsI've seen Freightliner chassis stored outside at Forest City already starting to rust before work even gets started. My 42ad Ellipse had a lot of rust the first year, welds done in the Winny factory had not even primer protecting them...it was bad. Took a week underneath the coach to solve the problems with rust and now you couldn't tear my coach away... I love my coach but Winnebago must be ******** to leave their work so unprotected for the sake of a couple extra hours getting welds etc painted properly.Re: Why switch to a Residential Refrig, thinking out loud !! Bill.Satellite wrote: It does draw some amps (mine is about 3 AC amps while the compressor is running but it does not run all the time or even most of the time). I have not defrosted my freezer in the last 14 years. Anyone full-timing with a RV fridge able to say that? I even have super filtered ice and water through the door so I don't have to buy bottled drinking/cooking/coffee water. My Dometic Sidewise draws 4 amps if on ac mode. I have never defrosted in over 4 years...it is self defrosting.I also have filtered water & a choice of cubed or crushed ice thru the door. Your point is?Re: Things changing for the betterWe traveled to Los Barriles BC with over 20 other rv's 2 weeks ago. Same old stuff...narrow road but great food/fishing/friends etc. I almost don't like to post good things since I'm worried that rv traffic will increase. Oh ya...there was a few dangerous incidents getting to San Juanico...the new highway was damaged so we crossed a stream during the detour and I doubt Winnebago's warranty department would approve lol.
