Bought new in 2015 asking if you would recaulk or not, still have inside storage in the barn, camper is all aluminum no wood to rot so even if there is a leak it should not cause a problem, it's a livin lite camplite TC just wondering what others would do. DaveRe: Please help me decide on a truck camperI'm not against any of those 2 campers, i have owned a northern lite 4.5 years ago, had some small leaks and a little delamination but it was a 1995 but if your worried about leaks and wood rot check out a camplite, no wood all aluminum, (really tuff camper, too bad they got bought out then discontinued) so far the only leak since new was through the side storage door, check out calking all around every year so far so good this is the first year of out door storage so we will see, next year i'll have a garage to put it in, also very lite at 2300 lbs posted on the camper and weighed at cat scales. DaveRe: Pick up for TCAs for older trucks I bought a 95 Ford F-350 duelly 4 years ago with 192000 miles on it well oiled down south truck wouldn't think twice about jumping in it and doing a cross country run with the camper. I've probably rebuilt the whole truck but it's cheaper than a new one and no emissions, as for sticker weights in Ontario they go by axle weights as per DOT as I have checked and as long as you increase the carrying weight on your ownership you are good GVWR means nothing to them as long as you don't go over GVAW weights. (Call your local DOT in Quebec and ask them) DaveFuel mileage 2017 gas trucksLooking at newer trucks not diesel but gas wondering the fuel mileage for them my old truck does not like to start in real cold weather in Canada unless I plug in so I been thinking about a newer gas truck. What truck and engine size do you have and what kind of fuel mileage do you get. DaveRe: Big Brother- Tag on your TC? specta wrote: In Utah its illegal to put the license plate from your truck on your camper. The plate is registered to your truck, not your camper. Its just like putting your plate on another vehicle. That's what I had the understanding of it is cargo, my plate is under the extension of the camper and never been pulled for it if you are behind the vehicle in a car you can see the plate had the camper from new never had a problem in 5 years all over the country in USA and Canada many police passing me. DaveRe: mounting air fitting for air bagsI put mine on the bottom of the bumper outside but they are auxillary as I have a compressor for Air Lift Wireless Air setup this set up always automatically adds air to 10 psi if it drops. DaveRe: GVWR or GAWRHi lap527 hope all is going well, thanks to all who replied I was really wanting to know about my USA travels and because I am legal at home and registered right I guess I'm good where ever I go thanks again to all DaveRe: GVWR or GAWRYa Keyteg I know what you are saying but they are pretty helpful in Ont. here that's where I got the info about the axle weights, drove truck all my life and everywhere you went they checked axle weights GVWR ment nothing. DaveRe: Northern Lite truck to camper cordJust for any ones info I use a johnson bar and push the brake down and wedge it up against the seat walk back and check the lights I check tires and lights every morning before I drive away.
